Re: Team stacking and autobalance
Team stacking is and on again, off again problem. Why is that? Who knows, it just seems to be a phenomenon that occurs from time to time. When it happens, report it over TeamSpeak and chat, if that does nothing follow it up with a PM to an admin or group of admins. Though we may not be logged into the game itself, we can and do catch posts, PMs and chat messages.

Re: Team stacking and autobalance
I know when my friends get on they hop on the other team, then go looking for me to try to knife me. I guess that's the opposite of team stacking and is just as bad, huh...

Re: Team stacking and autobalance
It's so true T.T I tell them to get on so they can see the teamwork of TG. And they've been ranting and raving about how fun the server is. But whenever one of them squad leads, they know me well enough to know exactly what I'm going to do, and do everything it takes to slice me a new one. It's all good tho, pre-TG, I'd pull a knife and duel them. Now I just put my shottie to use =D.

Re: Team stacking and autobalance
From what I have seen this can be an issue from time to time. I think a big part of it is that |TG| players want to squad with other |TG| members.
I know that just because you have the |TG| tag doesn't make you a good player, but I also know that most players that have the |TG| tag, regardless of skill, still make great squads

Re: Team stacking and autobalance
I find the unbalances occur more than they probably should also. It seems more often than not, I can look at the teams and tell who's going to win before the round has even started. With all the TG talent, and there's some pretty good players that don't wear tags also, it shouldn't be that easy for all the less skilled pubbers to end up on one side, but I see that they do somehow. I think part of the problem is the mass disconnect thing that occurs, where one side will lose like 8 players suddenly. The other thing I see is an entire squad will end up leaving the game at the same time. I'll try to switch when I can, as I don't prefer to squad up with any ppl in particular, but when a whole squad does it, it isn't helping. The most enjoyable games are the close ones. If I'm on the team that's romping, I'll just run to a corner and snipe (which I suck at, but it's fun trying!) until I can switch while still keeping teams even. But yeah, I saw this post and had to comment, cuz it can be extremely frustrating, and anything to help end it would be awesome.
Do I have a solution? No. But isn't it kind of obvious when a romp is taking place? Can't 1 or 2 of the top dawgs move over? All it should take is one person that's good with a vehicle, 1 good squad leader, and maybe 1 decent fragger. The most important generally being the vehicle person. A good Walker and APC versus a team that doesn't have either is usually how the romp starts.
On a side note, I've been on a lot recently and this is definitely my favorite server, but wanted to know if you needed to be a supporting member to wear the TG tag. I'd like to think that I care about the community here and have come to enjoy and get to know a few of you, but wasn't sure. I think sometimes the pubbers see the tags and hop over cuz they expect they'll be on the better team, so maybe if some of the regs that don't wear tags put them on also, it might help keep things even? Just a thought...

Re: Team stacking and autobalance
Anyone can be a TGer as long as you agree to follow the rules. No need to pay anything at all, you can even join the TG-Irr the TG in house squad for non-SM’s. To be a supporting member you need to pay the monthly fee around 10 bucks to get* a prime seat on the server more options, the ability to join an IHS, free sexual favors from Bea Arthure**, more sig and posting options, the secret decoder ring that tells you exactly hot to kill anyone easily, and most importantly you will not get kicked to make room for me or any other SM for that mater and two yes count them TWO burlap sacks!
You would be crazy not to want to be a supporting member and you would need to be real real crazy to not want show the TG tags as a non SM, they don’t say your good they say I agree with the rules and I will follow them.

**Bea Arthure prize no longer given out she was given to Lorax and he never returned her.

Re: Team stacking and autobalance
Please dont turn autobalance on, the server crashes more than enough. People are afraid. Afraid to SL, afraid to CO, afraid to play with pubbies. This fear spreads to the pubbies as they frantically try to get on a good squad and if not they are left w/ a person without a mic. Do not fear squads, do not fear the TG tag, do not fear IHS, and we will be fine. We need more SL's like sleeper and zhohar who just create a squad just about every round and let anyone join. However, I also experienced this late a couple nights ago. We lost like 10 straight rounds and were capped out a twice. The commander pretty much gave up on our team except for my squad. It was unfortunate but I still had a great time and oddly enough my squad still did well. I dont really think this is a problem, teams can get shut down any round and if its that bad, why wouldnt people just choose another server?

Re: Team stacking and autobalance
Well, my internet has been on the blink lately so there have been no "TG Fun" squads being formed. However, the connection I have seems to be handling 2142 well enough and I aim to return to SLing shortly now that I have determined that I can, in fact, play 2142 on this wireless connection. LOL

Re: Team stacking and autobalance
I am thinking of creating "TG drill" Squads where everyone yells around like Bommando and you get kicked from your Squad if you miss a revive.

Re: Team stacking and autobalance
Team balance and ticket situation becomes irrelevant when you're in a fun squad.
