Should FF=OFF also = NON RANKED?
Honestly after playing alot of titan, I've come to the conclusion that FF being off is completely bogus. But fair enough many people like it, but I think they should either A: Half the XP from those games, or B: Make them non-ranked completely.

Personally, I think FF should be on because it makes a consequence for your actions. So you can't just run around crazy with grenades and stuff. I don't think they should be non-ranked but I do think FF makes it more fair for ranking as you can lose points.

I think so, but the community at large when never accept it. Therefore, as a business practice, a publisher/designer like EA/DICE would never make such a bold step in that direction.

Yeah, its a completely different, and easier game. As Draeh said though, it caters to the majority.

The entire reason I'm a member of TG is because of FF OFF servers. I originally started playing this game with two other friends and they were always playing on this server where FF was OFF. Every now and then I would be able to play with them and I remember specifically this guy would come down to the Camp Gibi UCB and throw down some RDX then start bunny hopping all over the place.
After I started playing on the TG servers I realized just how pathetic the server was. I tried getting them to come over but after they played one time on a TG server and got mad owned even without the Jihad Jeeps, Bunny Hoppers, or Base Rapers they quit playing the game.

You'll always have a split opinion for this topic. But I think I can safely say that all of us have no issue with FF=ON. But it is neat to watch people fly 100+ meters in to air and kill gunships with paracutes

They should make gunships out of parachutes. And those lamp poles that render at 10 meters on Tampa...
As long as FF=ON servers aren't empty, they can RDX spam all they want and get to Brigadier General before me. I mean, it's their right to play the game, isn't it? And as long as nobody is making me play on FF=OFF servers I'm perfectly fine with it.

I personally think that FF off takes away from the intent of the game to provide a simulation of combat that we can all experience and "enjoy". I have never agreed with it and probably never will.

I like both FF=On and FF=Off servers because the On ones give BF2142 a challenge into tactical game play and the Off ones test your individuality as a player.

I think FF=On tests your abilities even farther... The ability to not TK a teammate that steps in front of your shot. The ability to deploy explosives safely (also not TKing a teammate). The ability to use an APC mortar without wiping out friendlies on a flag.

You know what's incredibly stupid about FF=Off in this game? It also disables self-damage.
Seriously, FF=Off would be much more viable with self-damage on. Solves the whole RDX bunny-hopper problem quite nicely.

How would I propel myself over buildings in daring aerial assaults then?
I can see FF being forced on in some games, but I should hope that game would actually ship with decent admin tools, like those mod ones for HL2. Frankly, any server that isn't able to support a decent admin team has no business being up in the first place.
