2142 makes me sad
As a lot of people have noticed I have shifted my main game off 2142 but I still play every once and a while but tonight was just silly how poor the server was.
simple round of berlin and the teams looked stacked, we can deal with that no biggie but TG people running around in combat with knives only that is more of a problem. A certain person who will remain unnamed was next to spawn camping people with knives. Heck we should just make the second server a knife server and just let everyone go there from what I saw tonight.
I'm glad that the 2142 community still has numbers but quality seams to have been tossed out the door, maybe its just late but that isnt much of an excuse.Reapator, overlord of ponies

We had about 12 players on other server tonight. I did not think to send you an invite, but I'd love to see you in with us. We made a good teamwork on other server and if you had been the party I believe that teams would simply been impossible to balance. :P
Sorry for what happened on the main server TG. I do not believe that it has noticed this point, but when I am playing the TG players are usually playing fair and good game.

I have seen a LOT of new |TG| tags as of late... Yet I haven't see a lot of new |TG| players. I think as others have said summer brings out a different crowd to the game, some good and some bad.
I will say that as one of those who went on the off server fun with KosssT, I found it funny every time someone charged me with a knife, as I unloaded a clip into their face each and every time. Now I think at least one person got my tags tonight, but it was stealth, not Rambo that took them from me.
As for late night, yeah there does seem to be a lot more 'interesting' players on later at night. But as with all things, don't let the ---- ruin it for you.

At the moment I'm reduced to playing on non TG servers..................oh dear me, the lack of team play, tactics or even general good manners is astounding, whereas the amount of bunny hopping, knife wielding, ramming, ill bred idiots is a good arguement for compulsory sterilization.
I have met some honest players out there and after speaking to them have pointed them in the direction of TG.
Maybe its me, but, because covert tactics isn't a huge part of 2142 I very rarely even thinking of pulling my knife, I'd rather make sure of the kill with my weapon to hand than risk one of my squad just cos I was after a knife kill.
I hope to be back with you guys when 1.5 is available for MAC or I can purchase PC

Once upon a time there were epic battles. No Sniper ever was happy with his life as there were 10 Rockets coming towards his position as soon as the Otus spotted him. Soldiers were caring for their comrades by sprinting halfway accross the map to get revives while everyone else would cover their back.
Then came the day Cyberterrorists injected MTV into the Battlenet.
From that day on all soldiers forgot how to use rockets. They only used their defibs to fry eggs from now on. When trying to capture a flag everyone would stand in a circle around the flagpost and look into the sky. The soldiers who got hit the hardest by the cyberattack would totally forget how to fire their weapons and just jump around the battlefield with their knife out moaning... " ..tags.... tags.... tags...."

It might be profitable to have a rule (or something like it) that prohibits TGers from dogtag hunting unless they take off their tags. A |TG| in front of a dogtag hunter's name is definately not good on any server. Just a suggestion.

Well, it's ok if you dont want tell his name to evrybody, but I think you should tell his name to an Admin... otherwise he will continu.

well, I believe there are now times when you should and should not play BF2142 unfortunately. Especially late at night (EST), you should not play as the server gets pretty ridiculous w/ the UCB camping and vehicle stealing. I can't say I have seen that many people running around with knifes though. Totally agree with Lyra's post, hilarious as it is.

Agreed. It's best to play during the day when the admins and such are on.

We have to remember, the server is what we the regulars make it. The admins do a great job, but they have lives too. Therefore, it is up to us to be vigilant in reporting the rule breakers. Get screenshots, type it up in chat, make a report in the admin forums, etc.
The server has gotten into these funks before, and we have survived. The key is the reporting. Stop and report it as soon as you see it.
