I dont think that is what he means by interfere. I can't use both at once (as i have found during scrims) because i can talk fine in TS, but ingame VoIP is complete static to others in my squad. VoIP returns to normal when TS is off though. Any ideas?

It seems to be a problem with some sound cards. If you have the cash I would recomend a USB headset or a new sound card. you can get a decent card or headset for under $50.

As to the OP:

I had no idea what I was missing until I joined up. Team Speak gives you the chance to get to know your fellow |TG| members above all else, and is now a regular part of my game play. It is one of those tools that once you get a taste is it hard not to want more...

Also if you are running Vista, make sure you are running TS as an admin.

I normally don't get on TeamSpeak because I'm on my guild's (in a different game) Ventrilo server. I'd easily get confused if I had to distinguish between guildies on vent, TGers on TS, and SMs in game!

Do you know exactly what causes this problem? And as for a new soundcard, what kinds do and don't have this problem. I currently have an old SB Audigy SE.

I don't know what actually causes the issues but it seems that other have had issues with Audigy cards in general...

IMO..........

Team speak is a big PITA.

there is always somebody talking to someone eles when the game is going, and that makes it hard to hear and understand your CO and squad leader commands. At least it does for me.
I used to only use it for contacting a admin.
When I return from broken bone leave, I will not be reinstalling it.

There is the option for a mute button in TS. You can just mute it during the round and not be bothered.

Usually works, as it it expressed in the channel description, no talking during rounds.....I don't mind the odd "nice kill, John" but no conversations. Keep it for in between rounds.

Today i found an old POS headset (USB) which i was hoping to use for TS to avoid the Audigy problem. However, this is an pretty terrible headset (works fortunately), and would not be good for gaming, so i am wondering if you can use TS and route it into just the USB headset, and leave my speakers on for the actual game sound, Like how the XBOX360 does it with their headsets.

Yeah. In your sound options, change the input to your headset, and your output to the speakers.

I'm always on TS when I'm playing. I have PTT, change channels, volume up, and volume down all maped to keys. The volume goes down during play and up afterwards.
