    I am of the opinion that a roflcopter squad can seriously impact the performance of your team - for the worse. Sure, it can be a high scoring round for them, but it usually means 4 to 6 people are doing little to take or hold flags. There might be a round where they actually do some good, but it's not often.

    I mean, we can land to take silos or flags, destroy armor, kill infantry and keep those pesky air units out of the sky. I think roflcopters could have a lot of potential.

    Depending on how the squad operates, and how the enemy team reacts, it can be devastatingly effective.

    It also depends HUGELY on the gunships in the map. One map where i see the Roflcoptrs most is Sidi (64?) conquest. However, there is only 1 gunship that spawns at the neutral Power Plant flag, so if the other team gets it, you are dead (many times) unless you get lucky with a lot of SAAWs.

    I tried the roflcopter idea yesterday and, to my surprise, got shot down every time before we got to Reactor Core. Gunships can take a roflcopter down quite easily.

    Three words for you: Shield, Piloting, and SAAWs.

    You need to use the shield at the right time, pilot like a maniac, and position your engys so that they can unleash SAAW devastation.

    I wasn't piloting, I was using my SAAW but we got shot down before I knew what happened.

    Yeah, a good gunship pilot will make the roflcopter cry. There is something you can do to make it harder for gunships to surprise you. When taking off, gain a massive amount of altitude before heading off into the sunset. That way, most gunship pilots will be flying below you, where you can easily shoot them down.

    I was there.....We even had AA on board (me). A good gunship pilot (or 2) will kill this tactic :-(
    Also, it's verrry hard to lock onto a gunship with AA while flying. The lock-on range seems to be a lot less than on the ground.

    It is also a lot harder to maintain a lock too. Kossst, I'll be shooting down those gunships hopefully.
