I just never bother to run "Learn TG" squads. I think I will from now on.

Yeah, we repaired the walker but it didn't want to move.

Re: Teamates
very true. certain maps bring out the inexperienced players in question. Suez, Tampa, and Gibralter all seem to bring the worst teamates to the server. In highway tampa today, our UCB got camped 3 times, gunships were stolen from the gunship squad, and an overall drop in team play was noticed. Arithea raises a great point, i wish i could help, but i merely have no idea where to start.

Re: Teamates
Confucius says that the best way to gain world enlightenment is to start with yourself. Are you taking the time to make in-game reports of players who are not following the rules? Are you taking the opportunity to form squads that are dedicated to teamwork?
I will be on 2142 this evening from 10:30 PM to midnight EDT. If you see me on, feel free to join my squads and I'll be more than happy to show you where and how to get started. Or feel free to seek access to squads that other TG members are running on the server - they'll help you get a good start.

Re: Teamates
You know, I've gotten more experience learning how to squad lead by doing it than anywhere else. Newness to the game isn't so much as factor as you'd think; I was squad leading within a few weeks of learning the game. I wasn't the greatest squad leader for a while, but I like to think I had a good influence over my squad mates and inspired them to lead by example. In fact, quite a few of them went on to lead their own squads and recruit other members and non-members into the fold. Don't be self-conscious; we're all here to have fun.
And, for the record, I agree with Spulat--he might have found the crux of the issue, right there. We don't have enough people who know the server and the rules squad leading. It's really the best way to lead by example, IMHO.
See you all on the field--and maybe some more of you with bars on your shoulders.

Re: Teamates
I get self-conscious of trying to lead a squad, especially when you have squad members who go "uh... we need to go THAT way" *blink blink*.... "o'rright then!" Kind of like that part in Hercules where the Titans have just broken out and are headed out, only for Hades to go "uh, guys... Olympus is THAT way...".
But glad to hear I'm not completely off my rocker. I think I'm going to lead a squad tonight. If they don't like it, they can leave, or I'll shovel them out like poo out of a stable. So if you see the FAV loaded up with people, going in the wrong direction... yeah.... probably me.

Re: Teamates
That what we'd call squad leading with your chin.. because you are leading everyone out there with you in front.. ready to take that first enemy round in your face - leaving your squad to fend for themselves.
Use your more experienced squad mates to take point. Take cover when you get under fire and give your guys a rally point..

Re: Teamates
I'm inclined to believe some squad mates would become resentful of having an SL they need to lead around, and they're not getting the SL points for it. The same people who, in that round, probably didn't want to SL their own squad.
Given I ask questions first, shoot later (as evident by my Kill/Death Ratio...) I'm not exactly the guy you would want to put in front anyway. heh.

Re: Teamates
I'll be honest, I find assault boring as sin. I'd usually rather quit than be forced to play it more than a round or two.
Assault rifles are boring, rockets are EZ Mode, reviving is good stuff, I guess, but not fun to use, really.
