Re: Too Late To Start?

Ok here are my thoughts.

Initial thoughts:

What the hell is going on?
I am super lost?
What the hell is an IDS/APM/RDX?
What keeps killing me?
How do I get rockets?
Why is the server crashing constantly?

Intermediate thoughts:

I can't keep up with the squad leader because he has every unlock known to man!
I am lost on the Titan... I think I am running in circles.
Why aren't my APM's killing anyone?
Where are they killing me from?
How the hell do I use these damn rockets?
Why is the server crashing constantly?

After thoughts:

I can finally keep up with the squad leader, but I think he uses me as a meatshield (looks at Zhohar!)
I am still lost, but I know where I am going...weird huh?
Never detonate RDX when someone tells you to. Teamkills really hurt your score!
I know where I am getting killed from, but there is nothing that I can do.
If you don't have rockets...you fail!
Why is the server crashing constantly?

In all seriousness, I play 2142 so I don't get burnt out on PR. But it is still fun nonetheless. Meet some really good guys and witness some pretty funny stuff. It is REALLY fast paced and there is really never a slow moment! I recommend finding a 2142 "mentor" and take some notes.

I'm sorry for telling you to blow it when people on our team got revived at the last second.

Re: Too Late To Start?

Oh yeah...that -4 may have been me...but I asked you to detonate before I was there...like an entire second before

P.S. Everything that Dirtboy said is 100% true IMHO and I'd +rep if I could, although it's more fun than it sounds . And he's not too bad at it. I don't think I've ever killed him (maybe once...), but I'm pretty sure he's got me countless numbers of times.

Yeah he does...

This one time, on Cerbere Landing he team killed a guy just to show people the blue 'X' that shows up on the mini map...

Then when we revived the guy, Zhohar shot him again, just to prove his point!

Training medics in the middle of a firefight? Someone needs to stop him quick or we will be overrun with good medics!!!!

Just so I'm not misunderstood, I ran a medic drill. I had to TK some of my SMs in order to show them how to get proper revives and what to look for. I do this fairly frequently when I run infantry squads. I start the round with -10 score, but I believe the benefits of five better medics outweigh my score.

Oh I don't think anybody misunderstood. I think they were actually giving you props for "live fire" drill instructing.

Re: Too Late To Start?

Yeah that Zhohar, watch out for him.

back on topic:

Its not to late to get in, but if you do, get the BF2142 and Norther Strike combo then join us for a frosty Thursday. One night I got like 6 unlocks (1 rank and 5 NS). Heck I got 3 unlocks in one game! And that was just recently. With a new solder you could easily get 5-6 in an hour or two.

It's never to late. Just find a |TG| squad and they'll help you out until you can duke it out wit the best of them.

Re: Too Late To Start?

Thats true...I try to run at least 2 or 3 "Learn TG" squads each time I'm on.

Remember on the last Phosty Phursday (Not the one that happened this week). Rage told me to blow my RDX and when I pressed the button, he said don't. Well, I think RDX is an incredible tool provided you are watching the spot where it is set.

My apologies if I gave the wrong impression of Zhohar and all he has done for |TG| and our medic corps. He is in many ways as great as an instructor as he is a squad lead. Anyone willing to give up points in order to teach individuals regardless of |TG| affiliation the ways of |TG| and the ways of the medic is in all senses of the word a true practitioner of the |TG| ethos, and of the Tactical Gamer Primer.

My many thanks to Zhohar and all he has done to help this community...

~ Draken

PS... If you ever need a body for another quick lesson, just let me know
