Re: A dish best served cold ... or between the shoulder blades.
I would like to thank Reader from the bottom of my heart for giving be a wonderful story to share.
I was having some fun on Phrosty Phursday battling as the EU on Liberation of Leipzig. Things were going great and all was well until Reader showed up with a walker and turns me into a pin cushion. The two of us have fun for a while trading blows, He kills me with the walker, I RDX the walker. He shotguns me, I grenade him, it was a blast. Yet, despite my better efforts he still seems to have the upper hand at the end of the map. Which I do believe his team won by three tickets at the end. A great game, and a lot of fun, but I could not help but feel like... oh how to put this tactfully...
I wanted to bleeping knife the guy and have my crtl key malfunction.
Well next map starts up, Port Bavaria, and I take the role of commander. My team starts off with a push on central docks and a one or two person, detraction at eastern. As I expected PAC committed most of their forces to Eastern to prevent the Goliath so central fell rather quickly. In between the two flags, however sat the PAC walker. An EMP and orbital later, no walker. While I was drooping it however, I could not shake the feeling that it was Reader inside.
A little while later as my team is trying to push for warehouse, a hibachi, hitmanchan, oh those darn speeder things...Hachimoto... yeah thats it... was sitting just to the west of central pummeling the entrance with grenades. Orbital is up but not the EMP, taking a risk, I drop the orbital, knowing how easy it is to kill someone inside of those things. And I was banking on the fact that it was stationary, so no driver. Again, I just had this feeling, and I thought to myself, "You know, I bet that's Reader"
Shortly after the orbital strikes I hear on Team Speak. "Someone tell Y to use that orbital on someone else!"
To which I reply in an overly excited high pitched voice: "I knew it was you Reader!!!"
I spent the rest of the round with a smile from ear to ear.

Re: A dish best served cold ... or between the shoulder blades.
OK this is a public notice that I am desperate for revenge against Dirtboy. I guess the obsession with Alba gives him super powers, every where I went last night he was there!!!
I offered up $5 for a bounty on him and he just laughed at me
Every dog has his day, it may be six months from now, but I'll get you, it may not even be 2142, I may have to start playing PR or POE or whatever the heck that other game is you play, but one day I will extract my revenge from your dead and rotting (electronic) corpse.A captain of the most awesome IHS ever and remember to burn before you pillage.

Re: A dish best served cold ... or between the shoulder blades.
Talk to Zhohar, you may have an ally in your cause. Last time I played with him on Shingle we have a "Dirtboy hunting" squad. He wanted us to call out whenever we saw Dirtboy so the two could have it out. It actually was a lot of fun and it worked out to our teams advantage as we kept shutting down Dirt and his formidable squad.

Re: A dish best served cold ... or between the shoulder blades.
Haha...my squad put up a hell of a Defense at the Dunes station. We were getting attacked left and right but we quickly repelled all enemy advancements.
I remember when Zhohar tried to sneak up behind me knife me, but I quickly heard him attempt it once. I then realized who it was and quickly unsheathed my knife. From there it was a constant blur of me dropping to the ground repeatedly and avoid his swings. Meanwhile, I was frantically calling my squad back to me so they can help me out. Thank god they arrived when they did!
Two days later on Berlin...I took Zhohars tags when making a push on the north side of the map. I was so happy...I just stood there getting shot at. The funnest time I ever had playing 2142 was those two moments.
By the way, for those of you who didn't know...Zhohar cheats when you try and knife duel him. We made an agreement over TS to have this battle and you know what he did?...He tried to RDX me! Yea...I couldn't believe it

Re: A dish best served cold ... or between the shoulder blades.
Yeah that match has to be an all time favorite of mine... well that one and the one I posted about earlier with reader.... It was funny as heck to run up to the flag on dunes and watch two pro's swing at it. I wanted to get into the action so I held fire to pull out my knife and got shot by one of your squad members...
So much for honor on the battlefield
Well I guess the old saying is true...

Re: A dish best served cold ... or between the shoulder blades.
Holy thread necromancy batman... (There I said it for you)
The last battle of Shockwave Payback will always have a special place in my heart.
Not because we won, in fact PAC lost, but because I was finally able to do something I have wanted to do for a very long, long time. I was finally able to put my knife in the back of a particular regular that we all know and love.
The map was Wake Island, we had just captured Central Dock and there was a lot of enemy contacts still fighting for the flag. I spawned in right on top where the gunship would normally be. I drop IDS and my mini map shows a red dot north west just on the other side of the roof. Clark out, I start to approach, slowly. Just on the edge of the roof crouched is an enemy solders with a Voss. Knowing my aim with the Clark, and the fact that at medium distance Voss wins, I start to work my way closer. That is when I see the name above the player.
A huge grin crosses my face as my heart rate doubles. There he sat, the person that has knifed me more times that I can remember (at least once that round even), and he has no idea that I was there. I pull my knife and creep in, swing, and hear that wonderful cry, and the ring of fresh tags.
I shoot my arms into the air screaming with joy. Then I immediately start spamming the print screen button. I huge smile on my face I just scream out with satisfaction. I had finally done it. After a few moments I compose myself and calmly say to my squad, "I don't care what happens the rest of the match, this was a good game."
True it was unranked so the tags will not be added to my profile or anything like that. But I don't care. I know I did it, so that is good enough for me. (The screen shots I have don't hurt either
)
My friends call me Y. My enemies call me... well, that's a secret.

Re: A dish best served cold ... or between the shoulder blades.
Haha, in case anyone is wondering who Y's talking about -- it was me. I let my guard down, they capped the flag, and the next thing I know, there goes Y and there go my tags

Nice one Y -- definitely earned fair and square.Fight!

Re: A dish best served cold ... or between the shoulder blades.
After being sniped by the same dude over and over, I was finally able to spot the next spawn I came in as a sniper aswell, I could have landed a single headshot, but I rushed up to the tower , climbed up and no-scoped him from 1 feet away... heh
