Re: Ideas for possible changes
Naval battles would be awesome, it would require an entirely new set of maps just for the naval battles, but I'd love to see it happen.

Re: Ideas for possible changes
Ugh, agreed. One of the things that I dislike about 2142 is how much intel is available. NetBat is one thing, but the fact that at any given time you have 90% of the enemy team on your minimap is a little unsettling. That's one thing I want back from BF2 - less intel - or at least, more restrictions on it.

Naval battles would be pretty cool. Like it would be titan, but on the sea, and keeping in mind that its an ice age, vehicles are a must as the water is freezing and if your're in it for too long, you die, and with ice flows here and there that let foot travel be possible.

It would be cool, but I don't see it happening. In a way, titan works like a navel battle could. You pod from ship to ship. Rockets batter the opposing ship. Turrets like anti-air are mounted all around. Gunship warfare. And you could move to the enemy ship and take it down from the inside.

But it just isn't the same. The thing here is boats. I've always wanted to pilot a boat on BF2142 and sing "Row Row Your Boat" in a nasal voice.

Re: Ideas for possible changes
Several weapons I have been thinking of:
1. A much more accurate machine gun for Support, with a bigger clip and less recoil as well.
2. A semi-automatic sniper rifle that doesn't have the long recharge time between shots that also has a larger clip size for Recon.
3. A flamethrower for Support.
4. A more powerful, silenced, SMG for Recon.
5. An AR that has less recoil than the Baur for Assault.
6. A SMG that has more punch than the Voss.
7. Perhaps a gauss rifle for Engineers? It wouldn't run out of ammo, but would have a recharge time and go through infantry.
8. A machine gun that locks on to Aircraft for Engineers, but has limited ammo and overheats.
I think many of these sound like improvements to the existing guns but are things to consider.

I have another question that needs to be brought up: What about America? There has been no references or inclusion of the United States. It would be nice to have Americans included.

If you watch one of the trailers for BF 2142, it shows you what happened to the United States: It becomes a giant ice sheet. A bit difficult to remain a significant power in the world when your country has been swallowed by billions of tons of ice.

Not the thing I wanted to hear, but that explains a lot. It is a shame.

Re: Ideas for possible changes
Honestly I'm all for American pride and all, but it's about time there's a war game that doesn't involve the US in some way. It's become a war game cliche, America + some allies vs the bad people. I know alot of games are based of WW1 and WW2, but even the games that aren't are still America and friends vs the bad guys.
For a change, how about a Recon kit unlock that literally is a recon drone. The recon uses it, and a small drone flies overhead and scans the battlefield. The Recon could go into a TV missile like camera view, and see what the drone sees, maybe the drone could update the NetBat of the squad as well.

Re: Ideas for possible changes
Oh god, thats the last thing we need... a recon drone that further reduces the situational awareness of snipers....
What I would vastly prefer, is if the Recon kit, when playing sniper, got an SMG instead of the pistol, like an engineer. Then snipers would actually be able to fend off enemies in CQ.
