Park-52 Paintball Gun

Here's what I've been tinkering with in my spare time. It's based off of the PAC (Pan Asian Coalition) Park-52 Sniper Rifle from Battlefield 2142

The Skeleton is 99% done, with only an adjustment here and an adjustment there. Here is the final skeleton, with the proposed placement for plastic panels, which will also be fabricated from scratch. The gun on the very bottom is a graphic from Battlefield 2142, and the gun on the top is the actual working gun I've built around a Vintage (1992) Level 7 Classic Mag with a Warp Right Body.

Here's the original thread;
http://www.automags.org/forums/showt...5&page=1&pp=30

I call it the Park-52 Mag (because it's an Automag)

"Park 52 Sniper
Firing a custom-designed, 14mm flechette round, the Park 52 Sniper Rifle provides an equivalent level of force and precision as the EU Morretti SR4 without the cumbersome design factors. Fabricated using the latest metallurgic technologies, the lightweight Park 52 counters accuracy-hampering movement through shock-resistant, plastic steel barrel bedding. A high-magnification scope allows the sniper a long-range visual field, which can be upgraded through the DysTek Hi-Scope X4."

Re: Park-52 Paintball Gun

Sweet!

Have you considered lengthening the barrel, or would that affect the range/accuracy of the gun? (I don't know much about paintballing, so I don't know what it would do.)

I'm trying to think of other 2142 weapons that would look good and fit a paintball gun in. maybe a Krylov?

Re: Park-52 Paintball Gun

What you're seeing on it right now is a 14" barrel. When I get some more play-money (ie. money I don't need to live) I'm going to get a super sweet 16" barrel, which is pretty much the biggest barrel you should have in paintball (14" is considered optimal). Beyond that, you lose air efficiency, not to mention accuracy and distance.

I've considered doing a Krylov next. I love the look of PAC weapons, they're very distinctive, and are immediately recognizable from 2142. However, I would love to do an assault rifle in a bullpup style next, but I don't know what sort of look to base it off of.

That would be an awesome design for an airsoft gun too.

Bagheera, you need to link up with the guys at Nightmare Armor. That is quality work.

I was lazy and used that to say "Compressed Air". Not sure why we used to call compressed air O2 anymore...

BTW, this looks great. Where is the warp feed, I don't see it in the pic at all?

Re: Park-52 Paintball Gun

Thanks for the compliments. =)

No warp feed, but it does have a warp hose. It's a Q-Loader, which uses a spring drive located right in the clip to feed the balls. The hose is located on the other side of the gun (barely seen above and behind the A.I.R. valve)

The clip is located entirely on the stock, and I was inspired by the Park-52's 45 degree grip on the front, which houses the Palmer's Stabilizer, turning 45 degrees to house the 3.5 oz co2 tank. This was the only part that I couldn't hide well without bulking up some other part of the body, and I'm purposely avoiding remote air. Level 7 and earlier valves can use either co2 or o2. Level 10 and later can use o2 only. I went co2 because it's more compact than o2 tanks, and you can shoot deeper into the tank. The only downside to co2 (inconsistency is a non-factor, due to the Palmer's stabilizer) is it shoots a lot slower than o2, but it doesn't matter too much with a "sniper" rifle, right? When I build an assault rifle, I'll be going o2.

The body is a ULE Warp Right, which clears the top of the gun for the custom box I built to support the Weaver Rail and variable power (1.5x-5x) wide view scope. I may offset the scope to the far left of the box, to help with mask clearance, which I hope doesn't screw up my zeroing too much.

Re: Park-52 Paintball Gun

You could throw that old Model-98 barrel on it that would add a back spin to the paintball and make it travel insane distances (as well as hook if you turned it just right ). That would add to the sniper feel a bit I would think...

This is my next big purchase, which will turn this gun into the closest a paintball marker would get to being a sniper gun (not that it isn't close already hehe);

Pretty sweet stuff. I've met some people down here in Los Angeles that do killer stuff for movies too (I do some work in the industry myself.)

Disclaimer: The proposed plastic body panels are still in the concept phase only, so what you're seeing so far is the skeleton only, and the panels are still just graphics.

AKA: Flatline barrel for the Tipman 98 Customs. I'm not sure if they ever made some for other models. Best item I ever bought next to my bubble mask.
