I know operation single is not everyone's favorite, but it is one of my favorite maps, plus I put it in their to balance Fall of Berlin. Both maps are similar in that if the defending team is doing their job, the aggressors don't stand a snowballs chance. It's late in rotation, so we will not play it as often. Give it a chance.

I actually like that. I'm a fan of big maps even. It would mix things up a bit from their current flavor.

wait... what?
Oh now I see what you mean. You are right. It has been so long since I played Shingle, I forgot that EU is the aggressor, not PAC. Right, so have Shingle and Baby Tunis switch places and that should fix it.

Re: You make the rotation
Belgrade gpm_cq 32 - Great Starting map, no complaints here.
Suez Canal gpm_cq 16 - Interesting, see how mini suez works out, I think it could work nicely.
Camp Gibraltar gpm_cq 64 &
Cerbere Landing gpm_cq 64 - Not crazy about two stalemate maps back to back, I'd hate to go straight from a standoff at command center to a stand off at toll.
Verdun gpm_cq 32 - Good armor map, no complaints here.
Tunis Harbor gpm_cq 64 - yep
Belgrade gpm_cq 64 - I thought having the same map twice in a rotaton at difference sizes increases server instability? I could be wrong.
Fall Of Berlin gpm_cq 64 - yep.
Tunis Harbor gpm_cq 16 - Tiny tunis might be too crowded for this late in the rotation, plus see above about server instability. I'd take it out.
Operation Shingle gpm_cq 64 - Not a big fan of the map as a whole, but it's a change I suppose, some people like it.
Sidi Power Plant gpm_cq 32 - I'd prefer the 16p version.

Re: You make the rotation
This has been in the rotation a few times now. With or without vehicles, it's pretty fun.
This is the way I like to do rotations, it allows each team the opportunity to attack and defend back to back. Look it this way, if one team gets stomped, they get a chance to stomp the other team right back without having to wait.
About stability, let's see how it goes. If we start seeing an increase in the frequency of crashes again, we'll whittle things out and try other things again.

Re: You make the rotation
I think, as a whole, the rotation is pretty good. Operation Shingle gave us quite the surprise today when it came around. Not really a big fan of this map myself. It was fine starting off, but then it got to be kind of dull. This is just my opinion though.

Re: You make the rotation
Not really sure whose rotation is currently running, but can we please change Suez to the 64-player version of the map, including the tickets?
I'd really love to see some large-scale armor combat.Fight!

On the same lines could we set up the second server as Tampa Assault Lines?

Re: You make the rotation
I have had much fun in the past on 64 player Suez, its just so huge and full of armor that no map could rival it until Tampa showed up. I think it would be fun to throw this in the rotation for a while, needs a change for sure.

Re: You make the rotation
So, I understand that we all have types of maps we like and dislike. But I think we've got an overabundence of armor maps in the rotation.
A few things to keep in mind:
1. Armor maps take a LOT longer to complete. Suez is the worst offender as there's rarely bleed, but shuhia, sidi and tampa also take a long time as kills come not that quickly. Only having 200 tickets helps somewhat, but even with this, the rounds are long.
2. Armor maps use less teamwork. Someone recently made the comparison of a tank to sniper which, though not entirely true, has some merit. It is indeed POSSIBLE to play with a cohesive squad on these maps (especially,of the ones mentioned, sidi and suez) but I think many people profess a love for armor maps because it gives them an opportunity not to stress about being in a squad. This isn't just limited to gunship squads, though these are the most obvious because they're small and locked. This includes regular squads as well... even TG ones. That's not necessarily the fault of the people in the armor -- it's part of the nature of armor in general. You just don't need or want 2 walkers, an apc, and 2 tanks to be moving together as one unit.
3. While I recognize many in our community like armor maps, please realize they are in the minority.
4. It tends to reduce the quality of play in general both for that map and the one after. TG quality of play builds. The more TGers are on, the more TGers join, the better the play gets. The fewer there are, the less likely for more TGers to stick around. So by throwing in a map that causes at least a half dozen regulars to quit (not out of rage but because they realize they should be doing chores or whatever), you reduce the quality of play.
---
So anyway, I'm not suggesting removing armor maps from the rotation. But I am saying we should decrease their prominence. In particular, having Shuhia as the third map in the rotation is a killer. The first map is a 16p map as well, so it goes quickly or is just played until the server fills. So there's really only one full map before BAM, you kill the server with an armor map.
So my suggestion is to start off the rotation with 4 or 5 infantry maps before going to an armor map. Then go back to infantry maps for at least 3 maps before going to another armor map. Repeat.
It's perfectly fine for infantry maps to get played two, three or four times more than shuhia, sidi or suez.
Again, I'm really not dismissing people who like armor maps. If I were any good at the gunship, I might want to see a lot of armor maps too. And I do think variety is a good thing to have on our server. But this isn't variety; it's a drag.
But please recognize that this is hurting things. I know as a response I'll hear quite a few people who say "I love armor maps," but these people are the minority.
---
So if nothing else, I'd just like to reiterate the point: please don't place an armor map close to the beginning of the rotation.
EDIT: Obviously, this isn't a thread about armor fridays. That's not my bag, but it's fine and it's something different.

Re: You make the rotation
I feel that mondays and fridays are both pains because the roll is so repeating. But when armor maps enter start popping in the regular play I always feel like quitting. I just can't take the fact that you have to fight for every single kill that there is to earn, besides the fact that it takes atleast minute to switch between 2 closest flags to give aid.
Teamplay is strongest in armor squads including gunships, otherwise infantry is really weak.
So I'd go with Zoraster here, and make some reduces of how often armor maps come up. Every 4th sounds good for me (or if total of armor maps goes low it can be every 3rd)
