Shuhia is just not a map that I consider fun, I know some people like but I would be willing to bet most don't and even those that do don't want to play it over and over again. I do not mind playing Shuhia every once in a while, but with it so close to the start of the rotation it gets played every time the server crashes.Proud to have been an Irregular!

Heathens.......lol, personally the only time I don't like armor maps is late night 8v13 rounds. That said, I DO understand where you are all coming from. In fact, I feel the same way about inf. maps. I would really be bummed if it went to every 4th. But, I think I'll try to come up with a rotation. Stay tuned.

It's missing a few fun European maps, like Cerbere or TinyVerdun.
Personally, I think it's a safe rotation for when server crashes.Without teamwork, you'll never survive.

To add flexibility and allow for better changing (and rotations should be changed some to get fresher maps more play). Consider the following:
Category 1: Belgrade, Tunis Harbor 64p versions
Category 2: Cerbere, Fall of Berlin, Camp G 64p versions
Category 3: Operation Shingle 64p version
Category 4: Verdun, Sidi, Shuhia 32p version
Category 5: Suez 32p
Category 6: 16p maps
Category 6
Category 1
Category 1
Category 2
Category 4

Category 1
Category 2
Category 1
Category 5
Category 2
Category 2

Category 4
As long as you don't put the same map up in consecutive appearances of the category and use a Category 1 map more than three times or 2 map more than twice or all the other categories more than once, you can plug in any map from each category and end up with a successful rotation, I think.
Note things such as Category 2 followed by 4 followed by 3. In these instances, you'll have a team play EU assaulting, PAC head-to-head armor, EU defending.
For example:

64p Tunis
64p Belgrade
64p Cerbere
32p Verdun
64p Operation Shingle
64p Tunis
64p Camp Gibraltar
32p Sidi

While armor may not be every 4th map, this rotation actually worked out rather nice when we ran it. The armor maps that are included are the smaller versions that allow bleed to work it's magic shortening the rounds and balancing the play time.
I for one would not mind seeing this rotation make a come back.

I wouldn't mind that rotation, lyra, but I'd suggest putting in another inf map to start the rotation and one more inf map in the middle block.

It's great to have people suggesting rotations, compromising, and giving us all the most fun in-game as the rotation allows. So thanks to those participating here. However, since it goes through a few variations and is constantly being changed, I wonder if there would not be a more long term solution to it all?
I liked Zorasters post about the category rotation. That is certainly one way we could go.
We also seem agreed that armor maps should be a tiny bit less frequent...so I was thinking larger map rotations could spread them out, whilst also allowing for, what looks like on the face of it, a random order of maps - which is what we want, I.E. not 2 armor maps in a row, random in that sense. Of course in reality the lists are well thought out so we don't get bored. The problem we then come across is the, relatively frequent, crashes the server undergoes. So it's a compromise between variation, and short rotations so that we do actually reach that final map on the rotation sometimes.
Then I thought...what the hell? Why don't we make a really long rotation anyway, like longer than any I see on the last couple pages* allowing for a lot of combinations and armor maps to be spread out, as well as head on assaults. In no way would I expect us to ever get near the final map in the rotation, but that's where I propose a new system...for you to agree with heartily or point out some massive defect and throw in the garbage as you see fit:
Instead of changing the rotation every so often, we would simply change which map we start the rotation at. Thus, we are playing a different portion of this very long rotation and all combinations included, and all maps, will get played. The only thing that would need to be suggested (once we came up with this perfect, large rotation) would be which map we start at, but even then we could make a system. Again it would seemingly be random: E.G. 1,5,8,6,3,11...but would again be tailored so that we do not end up starting on two head on assault maps in a row and the like.
Another way of thinking about this proposal is: basically, everyone's suggesting small rotations...put a bunch of those end on end to make just one, and then create a systematic "rotation starting place" list, so that each of these "little" rotations are played, each giving map variety, and it would take so long before we reached the beginning of the "rotation starting place" list again that it would be extremely difficult to memorise the entire thing, and most likely around the same time: to get bored of it.
Apologies for the long post, I liked the idea and I wanted it to be put across the right way.
*e.g. every armor map twice / maybe suez 3 times because it was rated higher in the Rank The Maps poll, or something along those lines

I guess the question there is one of maintenance. The only way to do this without some custom program/script in the admin program is to manually resort the maps so that it starts with whatever the starting point is. So if every day we pick a new starting point, some admin would have to come on to change it. While I don't see long rotations as crashing the server, I'm not sure this is really necessary. The suggestion I made seemed to fit the bill and had 3 appearances by Belgrade and Tunis (just because they're the ONLY maps of head-to-head infantry), 2 of the other inf, 1 of the armor with the more popular armor at the beginning of the server, leading to more play time.
