Yes, you read the subject correctly, it's time for you to come up with our next map rotation. Why? Because we're interested in seeing what you can come up with. You are free to choose from all maps and modes except for Northern Strike. Failure to follow the short list of rules will cause us to ignore your rotation. We will post a complete list of maps and modes that are available in shortly.

Rules:
  1. Not everyone has Northern Strike, don't include it a regular rotation.
  2. Include map mode and size for each entry in the rotation. Proper map names and modes to choose from are:
    • gpm_cq - Conquest

      belgrade
      camp_gibraltar
      cerbere_landing
      fall_of_berlin
      minsk
      operation_shingle
      shuhia_taiba
      sidi_power_plant
      suez_canal
      tunis_harbor
      verdun
    • gpm_ti - Titan

      highway_tampa
      minsk
      shuhia_taiba
      sidi_power_plant
      suez_canal
      verdun
    • gpm_sl - Assault Lines

      highway_tampa
      operation_shingle
    • gpm_nv - No Vehicles (Infantry Only)

      belgrade
      camp_gibraltar
      cerbere_landing
      fall_of_berlin
      minsk
      operation_shingle
      shuhia_taiba
      sidi_power_plant
      suez_canal
      tunis_harbor
      verdun
    • gpm_ca - Conquest Assault

      wake_island

    Please list the mode, this will make it easier for us to program it in should we decide to go with your rotation. If you do not list a mode, we will ignore your rotation. The format of each line should be something like this:
    belgrade gpm_cq 32
    This entry would be 32 player Belgrade, conquest mode.

    Please note, everything must be in lowercase, spaces in map names should be replaced by the underscore "_" character, must have mode and size, no commas or other punctuation.
  3. Infantry Only rotations will be ignored.
  4. Armor Only rotations will be ignored.
  5. Titan Only rotations will be ignored.

Again, failure to follow these rules will result in us ignoring your rotation. We won't comment on it, we won't clue you in, we'll just skip it. What am I really saying here? Don't be lazy, follow the rules! I'm glad I got that off my chest, now let's move on...

Things to consider
  • There will be one round per map. At the end of the round, teams switch and the next map plays.
  • Operation Shingle is an EU bleed map
  • If there is a titan map in the rotation, the server will default to 48 players. That really means 46 players due to the SM kick script.
  • 16 Player maps have 100 tickets
  • 32 Player maps have 200 tickets
  • 64 Player maps have 300 tickets
  • Some maps only have 16 and 32 player versions however you can still set the size to 64 players, that essentially gives you 300 tickets instead of 200 which equates to a longer time on the map. We do this on Gibraltar, Cerbere Landing, and Fall of Berlin, to name a few.
  • Putting an even amount of maps in the rotation causes both teams to play the same maps as the same faction when the rotation restarts. That's not always a problem but it can be if your rotation is too short.

I decree that there should be more titan! But my rotation will have conquest as well.

Pretty balanced amount of armor and infantry maps, stuck with the classic 2 infantry and 1 vehicle map for the most part, and didn't induce two bleed maps on the same team twice in a row. Provided the server doesn't crash very early on, it shouldn't feel like the same maps are being played over and over again (and likely crash maps are clustered somewhat later in the lineup).

I tried to alternate nice conquest with my favorite mode, TITAN! Also, assault lines, and conquest assault. What do you think?

As much as I enjoy a round of Wake Island (forces teamwork from both teams), it is not a great seed map after a crash. Also, you've put one team under threat of cap-out two rounds in a row. Lastly, you have three vehicle maps in a row (Suez Canal, Highway Tampa, and Wake), not critical but it could cause drop offs.

Agreed, pretty balanced. I think it's interesting that you went to the 32 player versions of Camp Gibraltar, Cerbere Landing, and Tunis Harbor. The map will be the same, but make for shorter rounds. That might actually be an interesting thing to try...

I don't know how often the server crashes, but i feel we don't make it through the rotation that often. Maybe we should try one of these rotations say every 2 weeks or something to keep it fresh? Just a suggestion.

Did that so that the average player won't get bored with the stalemates that often occur, and will let people play more maps in a shorter amount of time. I know that I personally barely get to see more than 3 maps a night, and sometimes only 2 because of a crash.

I'm just sick of tiny tunis, maybe tiny verdun? Also, I don't know why back to back titan is any different than back to back vehicle maps.

Also, I'm not sure what player counts certain maps have... I thought 16, 32, and 64 were the only sizes.... so we play 48 for city maps?

All titan maps are hard coded to 48, all others have a choice of 16, 32, or 64.

Some maps, excluding titan maps, have different version for all three sizes, verdun for instance, others only have two sizes (16 or 32). If a map only has 16 or 32 player version,setting the server to 64 merely increases the ticket count of the 32 player version.
