Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
Hello all. I try to read the forum often. I do not get a chance to post often.I am too honest to not post constuctive issues if asked. With that being said. I don't see a problem as described. I love the TG community and always enjoy playing with the 3rd. I just dislike the taste of Zhohars shotgun !

Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
That does not make you a terrible brother. Not converting your brother to the ways of TG, now that does make you a terrible brother.
The first thing I did when my brother started to play 2142 was show him the path to TG.
(You’re welcome Draken)
On topic:
The 3rd are some of the best players on this sever, as such everyone wants to be on their team and in their squads. Zho, how long does it take your squads to fill? One second? Two on a slow day?
Zhohar, you alone can unbalance a team. I cannot count the number of times you have switched to "even things up" (a very admirable thing) just to watch the new team you are on own the map. So when you get three or four 3rd together, “team stacking” could be an issue to anyone that does not know you all better. But as others have said, if teaming up with your IHS is wrong, then I don't want to be right.
On a serious note, in all honesty, I have felt a bit of disdain for some members of the 3rd before. It was usually a fleeting thing; something that I have learned is as much jealousy of their skills as anything else. There have been times when I have played with members of the 3rd where I was left with the feeling that I was little more than a quick revive and a meat shield. It is hard to be a member of a squad and to see the SL with only one or two deaths, and the rest of their squad having 10-20. Especially when you know the only reason that was possible was because of constant revives. Likewise, it is hard to see the SL instantly revived while you slowly watch the counter tick down to 0.
Is this in any way the fault of the 3rd or its members? No, probably not. But you asked for the truth and that is what you shall receive.
It should also be said, that playing with you Zhohar, and Reader and the rest of the 3rd are some of the best times I have had on this server and in this game. However, there are times when, for various reasons, I would like nothing more than to knife your sorry butts and have my Ctrl key “malfunction”. But even this is out of the spirit of competition, not spite.
Ultimately, if I ever have a problem with you, or anyone in the 3rd, rest assured, I will bring it to that person’s attention directly. The 3rd are all a bunch of great players and an IHS to be proud of. One that I would love to be a part of if I am ever good enough to be.

Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
Our roots are serious competition. With that we developed quick reaction skills. One of which is the SL. Spawn beacons to us are junk and a big pink kill me sign. We rely on sneaky SLs that can breach defences or cause mass confusion to the defenders as they have no clue where the enemy is comming from. This allows caps and breaches.
One of my favorite players overall was Reaperassault. He alway SLed. He came out with a overall k/d 5.5+ every single night. That was mostly due to the 3rd and other memebrs reviving his ass every few seconds. I can't tell you how many times all of us other the reaper came out with only 2.0 k/ds or worse. But overall, our tactics won (atleast for our squad).
The more you push, the more this game becomes linear. There seems to be breakdown in tactics that don't work, tools that become useless, and tools that become overpowered. But there is one keystone tactic to all tactics, Having your SL in the right place. The soldier formerly known as, Eroak.

Re: An Honest Queery from the 3rd.
I was there that night. I started on the same side as the 3rd and friends. after winning a game by more than 100 points I switched sides to the other side to try to even things up. The next round there were even more people that switched over to the other side so the only non new TG names on my side (that I recall) were Stark, roguesniper & myself. all fair to good players but we were walked all over by some very high end players.
Requests to balance the teams were met by silence because unknown to everyone the 3rd invited a bunch of people down to thier TS for some good wholesome fun.
The last game was lost I believe with the defenders being 160+ tickets or more. Though we were able to cap the first flag the massive response every time we did meant that we lost it with in 3 seconds of capping it every time.
Not only were we being out meanuvered we were out gunned MASSIVELY so massively that some people thought it would be cool to have some kind of stabbing feast where they were bragging in reg TG (the round before they left for the 3rd's TS channel) how many knife kills they got that round (one claimed 7 the other 9). If non-TG players run around doing nothing but stabbing they get a warning about it, how can it be ok for a TG player to do the same thing and BRAG about it in TS.
I don't reaily care why it was done, it does not mater if it was done to have frun or break rules in the end it caused the whole pac side to not have fun and many to log. I personaly was so disgusded with the behivior and other things I saw that I decided to distance myself from TG-2142.
I heard a lot of angry statements in squad from both TG players and non TG players alike that night.

Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
Honestly the times the 3rd annoys me the most is when it's Fall of Berlin and damn-near 90% of the time they all pile in the APC. With random noobs in the APC it'll die more often than not. With the 3rd in it, it's just:
TG-3rd [AMV-2 Groundhog] Player 1
TG-3rd [AMV-2 Groundhog] Player 2
TG-3rd [AMV-2 Groundhog] Player 3
TG-3rd [AMV-2 Groundhog] Player 4
TG-3rd [AMV-2 Groundhog] Player 5
And then their team wins with 180 tickets left over. Thankfully, no-vehicles Berlin fixes that!

Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
We have come to a reflex that we have devloped from comp play, Get the winning tactic. Problem is that it's now a reflex and sometimes we need to step back and say, we shouldn't do this. But on the other hand, I love armor and I suck as assault. It's just what I'm good at. Should I stop, or should I drive? Sometimes I dont want to fly and people still end up inviting me anyways (repaq
). But on the 3rd hand, and I know a team is stacked, Having myself switch to drive amror can offset a balance issue. It's tough and even as a admin, I can't catch this all the time.
Fall of Berlin is not my favorite map because it's completly different and I have no excuse. I'm really taking a liking to no vehicle maps overall except Camp G, Carebear, and Tunis. They become unbalanced to quickly and teams often can't make pushes until the bleed has claimed them. The soldier formerly known as, Eroak.

Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
Allow me to set the record straight. We--and those who chose to come with us, as it was a public discussion--changed TS channels because we were planning on pub raiding, which worked until all the servers we joined started crashing. (Remember? That was the night the TG server crashed continuously. Apparently, it wasn't just us.) Once we got frustrated with that, we just rejoined the main TG server for some crazy fun and forgot to change TS channels back to the main. If we offended anyone, I'm sure I speak for the 3rd who were present by stating that it was not our intent to keep the game from being fun for anyone else. If I recall correctly, we lost about half of the rounds we played; we were just having too much fun to care.
I would also like to point out that anytime anyone--and I do mean anyone--needs to get ahold of us and we're in the 3rd SFD main channel (not the competition channel), they're more than welcome to hop channels, announce themselves, and let us know what's going on. We're here to help.

Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
The 3rd had three members on that night, and we were in our TS channel. Other people joined us as they pleased. This was not an invite-only clique Sleeper, and there was no elitism involved. We wanted to be alone – other people joined us. Equally, there was two other TGers who were active in the squad, and a couple of others that came in part of the way through. I hardly think that constitutes a “bunch”.Requests to balance the teams were met by silence because unknown to everyone the 3rd invited a bunch of people down to thier TS for some good wholesome fun.
What I'm seeing from the quote above is a picture of an elitist clique hanging out in a separate channel and causing a teamstack: this is categorically false and I put my word and honor on it.
To my knowledge, the first Berlin round, and sometime later in the night, the Sidi Rolfcopter round was the *ONLY* ones we won that night. My squad, and the 3rd members in particular, ran a negative K/D ratio for almost the entire night. We did so in persuit of fun. The point I'm trying to make is that Berlin was an isolated incident in the night. The last game was lost I believe with the defenders being 160+ tickets or more. Though we were able to cap the first flag the massive response every time we did meant that we lost it with in 3 seconds of capping it every time.
Not only were we being out meanuvered we were out gunned MASSIVELY so massively
The Berlin round was stacked, yes, but there were THREE 3rd members on the EU team, and two others in our channel. Save for those, that left AT LEAST ten to fifteen other TGers on the EU team who heard your calls for a team balance and did nothing. You cannot possibly blame this teamstack on the 3rd members Sleeper. It is unjustified and uncalled for.
Equally, as Arithea said, anyone is free to join the 3rd's channel, announce themselves, and discuss most anything: team balance, and griefing.
Furthermore, it was a *single* round. Most every round after you had left, our squad and our team lost. The 3rd members and those in the squad stayed on the losing side because we were having fun. The squad entirely kept a negative K/D ratio for most of the night. We did this because we were having fun and trying out new strategies.
I am not aware of any such action, nor was I witness to it. Knifing and suicide tactics were not encouraged or tolerated in the squad that night, and I am certain that a 3rd member has not done this. No 3rd members bragged about knife kills, stats, and dogtags – that night, or any time recently. I came in once into the general TS channel to talk to Dirtboy about knifing him. This was between rounds, and no longer than a three sentence chat. There was no bragging, and no stats quoting – it was friendly banter like I and Dirtboy keep up between rounds on most any other night. It was not meant to cause an offense, and I apologize if it has.that some people thought it would be cool to have some kind of stabbing feast where they were bragging in reg TG (the round before they left for the 3rd's TS channel) how many knife kills they got that round (one claimed 7 the other 9). If non-TG players run around doing nothing but stabbing they get a warning about it, how can it be ok for a TG player to do the same thing and BRAG about it in TS.
The Berlin round was a teamstack, but this was not caused by the 3rd, and we definitely did not stay on the winning team by switching sides. In fact, we did *not* stay on the winning team long after the Berlin round. The EU team started losing and we ran negative K/Ds the entire night.
Teamstacks are always ugly things, Sleeper, and I empatize with you: it would have been an ugly round on the PAC side for me as well. But I do not believe the 3rd has done anything wrong during that round. We would have switched teams but it honestly occurred to me about 3/4s of the way through the round that the teams were imbalanced. After that round, we kept losing so we stayed on the same side.Fight!

Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
The 3rd is top notch and many times have become the specific target of my squads...."KILLZO", "KILLPIE", etc. It is very fun and to hear the SM's yell into voip "I just killed Zhohar!!" is just plain fun. You all have always brought the game play to a new level and I personally enjoy that. To me the 3rd is motivational by mere presence. People actually, at one time, thought that I did not like Zhohar due to my dedication to killing him, far fro the truth!!
Teamstacking will happen at times and everyone deserves to let their hair down, except me....bald as I may be. Most times you are all on regular TS, which also makes the game more fun. I have and will continue to enjoy squading with the 3rd, against the 3rd, just plain gaming with them and everyone else.
I am bringing the shotgun Zhohar!

Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
See it how you like to, thats the stright facts as they appeared to me. I did NOT say "elitist clique hanging" if your looking at and think it sounds like that then imagine what it looks to those not there.
When I logged there were a lot there. your right there were others there with you (most if not all of whom were in TS with you) and blame should fall on there shoulders as well, but they did not post a thread like this.
While I was on there was 3 back to back rounds that your team won though I was on your team for the first of 3.
Yes thats right there weer 10-15 TGers on your team, few or none were in TS so there was no way to ask them to switch over, I am rather sure that the ones on TS were on the PAC side.
Your very wrong on this one, the people were talking about reg kills in chat after they mentioned the 7 & 9 kills I said something like "so now do you guys gotta report yourselves or something now?" the next round was the one I switched and a certain person killed me with a knife 5+ times and again the next round the same thing with no atempt to shoot me ever. And that person was in 3rd chat though not a member of the 3rd.
Again not true everyone that was on the very stacked side caused it, if you had low KD or high ones it does not mater you were putting more fire on a group of people that could not do anything to stop it they were so out guned.
I am not talking about the rest of the night I am talking about the rounds that I was on and witnessed that were very stacked.
Think of it how you like to, all I know is that there was a lot more than the 3 regular TGers in the 3RD channel and those people were all on EU.
You can dismiss this flame it or do what you like with it.

Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
Well maybe this post will go through (feeling like im in communist Russia) I can see how people might get the feeling that the 3rd would be Elitist or exclusionary, I myself have felt that sometimes. But after getting to know most of the 3rd I can say i do not feel that way anymore. I have played with most of you and i Have been invited several times to play in your squads. So for my two cents, which obviously isnt worth much because my previous post was removed, i like the 3rd and I will always welcome the opportunity to play with them.

Rouge, since you had to go and post that first line of text, I'll respond as an admin (not a 3rd member). I deleted your post because you told people to stop whining. But we are here to have everyones opinion, positive or not. Your post was inflammatory and had not constructive value to the thread. After your communist opinion, the rest of your new post is fine.
