Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
I think this is one of those things that are just going to happen from time to time. As much as we try to avoid it. I was there that night as well and it was pretty ugly. I actually commented to someone on TS about it and was told "oh you guys are fine" or something to that effect. I kind of look at it the opposite way, i see it as a challenge and it helps me to become a better player playing against a team of elite players. In any case I think this is academic because i really think this is one of those things that will happen regardless of our best efforts. I always try and see how the teams are and switch if i can, unfortunately sometimes other people do not for whatever reason. I think we forget this is a game and meant to be fun, so lets all relax and try to keep other peoples feelings in mind when we are in game and on TS.

Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
All - I have read the entire post. Not sure if I was on that night, but most likely (I think I remember the comment about Stark on TS and that is when I left,- I also took off my TG tags for awhile... Until Insun straightened me out and reminded me that we are here for fun.... Sometimes one bad apple of an experience can ruin and entire batch of fun. But it easy to remedy as long as we have someone tending the pot - So well done Zoh for making this query and everyone else who has read it and commented upon it.
You may or may not know, I like going to the loosing team to balance it up if I can. For me it makes for better overall play for everyone. However: What is more enjoyable play for me may not be fore someone else? IHS working together on their channel and particular squad and punishing everyone on the server, may be the greatest thing for them, it may not, I am guessing they want a challenge. But be a boyscout and do the right thing (Create and A-team squad and school them).
Zohar mentioned he got off that night because he was upset that everyone followed him over and he was looking for fair play. He did the right thing in moving to the other team, did the rest of his squad? Sure they did, they just want to play with their pals and have a good time. It is not always easy to see the big picture . But we all must play Mom and Dad sometimes, "hey so and so can you go to the EU side to balance it out", if they deny ask others. It's that simple. We can't point fingers, where does it get us? Like Martha said, there is a great thing going on here, let us not ruin it because we a different, let us all understand we are different and find ways to accommodate the challenges.
So to any IHS I do challenge you at anytime to send me a PM, ask me to set up a squad, so you may be schooled
(or most likely the other way around, but always love a good challenge)
Cheers,
Aumen

Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
Damonte would like to merely make the observation that TG-tagged players are not the end-all/be-all.
Three nights ago, on a Minsk titan map, Damonte waited for all the PIE and LEARNTG squads to start up before forming his own squad. All the IHS tagged players were already in squads, so Damonte formed a squad called SCRUBS.
Damonte had two non-IHS TG-tagged members join and three other non-tagged players. Damonte recognized none of them.
They all followed orders. They all did an excellent job following their instructions and keeping to the objective (Holding the silo right underneath the enemy titan, then boarding the enemy titan to take it out). At the end of the round, the SCRUBS squad was numbero uno on the team with a teamwork score twice that of the next squad.
This is not a counter-argument or a contradiction to anything said in the five pages prior. This is merely a comment to not underestimate the capability of those that sometimes we routinely ignore as "pubs."
Edit: Anther comment...
Damonte also lost his tags that night, and made a rather rude comment to SuperfastBT in teamspeak which he immediately regretted. For that latter part, he apologizes sincerely. What does that mean? We are all human. Except for Lyramion who is a robot from the future.

Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
Now, I admit that I've been absent from 2142 for a LONG time. That's not the point; as a former member of the 3rd, I feel that when we played together, that was when we played our best. Though I never participated in scrims and competitions with the guys, I believe that I was doing my part by playing every night, squading up and playing on our server. It's that sense of comradery that we shared that compelled us to squad up together all the time, and I'm pretty sure it remains that way, amongst the 3rd or any IHS.
As for griefing, it'll sometimes get to your head when you're winning/won. Since we're all so close here at TG, I think we're at a pretty good understanding that we all like to joke around. No, it's not true that we think all German's are crazy like Lyramion; no, we don't think Reaper's (miss ya, buddy) Grandma is the sneakiest Recon ever; and most importantly, no, we don't think that simply because we're destroying one time simply makes them "noobs". To take those comments seriously is to forget the fact that on the server, we're friends. Friends who play a video game that depicts shooting a guy in the face with a assault rifle that also fires proximity rockets, not to mention the 12 foot tall robot who fires missiles. To take all this seriously is to take away the fact that we're, well, playing a video game. It's something we're all supposed to enjoy, together.
So please, let's forget about the claims of elitism and stacking, and just enjoy the game. We can all make fun of Lyra later.

Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
after reading this whole thread one scene popped up in my mind.
after i started playing on this awesome server i managed to get in Z´s squad. big tunis was the map and we keep defending junkyard. we all did a great job and out of nothing the viop chats was popping up and z said.. " alright fellas i´m going to switch the team cause there are a massive unbalance here. " he also suggest us to stay on this side of the team and have a great round. he left our squad and switched the team. at this point i didn´t get it.. we should i switch the team when i worked hard for this ticked-lead? after the round i finally get it. it shows me another great part of the TG way. " winning is not worth it to destroy anyone's fun at this game! " i keep that in mind and i will also join the disadvantaged team if i get the chance to do so. but honestly.. most of the time i won´t notice. i´m doing my job as a SL and at this time i won´t look to often to the stats. i´m to busy keeping an eye on the map, talking to the commander and my squad to take a look at the stats. often i catch myself in giving orders to my squad just to be replied like " nevermind Mirror, they are down to 5 tickets. we already won that round"
but this just to Zohar.
beside that i always love to play against the 3rd cause they show me my own weakness. i get nervous if a 3er leaded squad is around my position and i know.. " they will come for me. i will get crushed now but hell i´m giving them a fight now! they won´t get this point here easy! " sure i will make mistakes cause i´m nervous but i´m asking all of you.. is this not why you came here on this server? searching this challenge? getting better by learning from player better than you? after each round i step back a take a look at all my actions, analysing what i did wrong and what i could do better next round.
I must thank all of you by bashing my squads and becoming a better SL or SM ( if i got the chance to be in your squads and learning from the orders of an SL better then me )
i also want to take this thread ( i know it´s out of topic ) to thank all of you guys for reviving my battlefield. it just got 1 second left until i died and disappeared like all the other games i played in my life. you guys jumped down an saved it! thanks for that.

Gentlemen: I am all for casual discussion, but this is not the right place for it. This is a serious discussion and the 3rd would appreciate it if you would keep on topic and contribute in a serious manner.

Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
You wanted an honest query. Something like what just happened is the reason people see the third as elitist. Zhohar simply asked for the thread to stay on track and another 3rd member (who happened to be an admin) jumps in and just deletes everything off the board. It can be taken as the third has the power to delete anything they don't like out of their threads. I'm not PM'ing this because you guys wanted to be guided as to why you are perceived in the community the way you are, so there's one.

Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
I had played 2142 for quite a while without much contact with the 3rd. Eventually I went through a period a few months ago when they were consistently on when I was. I don't remember the names anymore but there was a group of them that were frequently disrespectful to me and others. With that as my only experience I was wary of joining a squad with any 3rd members. After a few nights in a row of immaturity and abuse I seriously thought about not participating with TG anymore. I decided not to give up on TG but that experience had a lot to do with me quitting 2142.

Re: An Honest Query from the 3rd.
It was deleted because it had no damn relevance to the decussion and fully lacked any constructive info where a member is seeking it. Further more, Why do I have to continuously explain my actions as a admin? I'm not doing this because it's a 3rd whatsoever elite BS. I'm doing it because this is a serious decussion and this thread was completely hijacked. I have deleted over 100 posts of data that makes no sense. The only thing I done wrong this time was I didn't stop it sooner. Don't pont fingers at me and say I make admin dessions as a member of the 3rd. I've done this in other IHS and non-IHS member posts. You made this personal and public, Threads locked and all this decussion is done. I dont think anything else usefull will come of this.
Please note the direction of Zhohar's orginal postThis thread has not met it's objectives.
Again, if anyone has a problem with what I've done, stickies will direct you to PM Tempus. The soldier formerly known as, Eroak.
