Announcment for 08/08/08 Scrimmage
Hey everyone, just want to get everyone prepared for the 8th Merc Schoolyard Scrimmage with a few announcments.
If you are participating please try to be in teamspeak by 7:15pm EST. We will begin picking teams at 7:30, planning at 7:45 and starting right at 8:00. If you believe you will be late, please PM me.
We will be playing on server #2, password will be givin in teamspeak.
The map will be Sidi Power Plant TITAN, best of 3 rounds. 3rd round side choice if necessary will be by coin flip. THERE WILL BE A VERY VERY SHORT BREAK BETWEEN ROUNDS IN ORDER TO SWITCH TEAMS AND THEN RESTART, PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY.
FredGwynne and Ionpig-a will be the 8th merc Captains picking teams. One will have first pick, one will have side choice. Once your name is picked, I will move you to the appropriate TS channel for your team.
Some guidlines to follow please:
HAVE FUN!!!
Please keep TS chatter to a minimum once official business has started.
Once your name is called and you know if you are EU or PAC you may log onto the server and get on the correct side.
THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT! once both teams are seeded a cease fire will be called on the server. At this tiime there will be about 15 minutes of planning to set squads and plan tactics. Once the cease fire is called this means the following:
NO Talking on Teamspeak except from admins, Captains or very necessary questions.
NO TK'ing
NO killing the other team
NO RDX'ing
NO grenades
NO shooting of any weapons
NO Driving around or flying vehicles
NO playing with active camo
NO tossing motion mines and bait
I think you get the point...
If this is too difficult for anyone, the problem will be solved by removing you from the server and TS and you will not be playing in the scrimmage PERIOD. This is going to be a very fun scrimmage but there is nothing as frustrating as trying to plan with very limited time and people are just screwing around. If you have any questions about anything, please post in here or PM me directly.
After the scrimmage the 8th is planning on sticking around and playing some northern strike and would love to invite everyone to play with us as well.

Sounds like a lot of fun. I hope to be able to make it, but with Shockwave and other projects... Well we will see.

7:15 EST is 4:15 PST, and I'm usually at my doorstep at 4:00. That's cutting it close to the wire, but I'll make it.

I will be there with my guns loaded, drinks mixed, and music blaring!!!
My personal feeling about anyone that violates the rules prior to start, just as the hold fire rule, is that they be banned for the evening from both servers. This is how serious I consider this to be and we should all be able to follow them, thus no problems..........RIGHT?
Oh yeah, KLRAGE squad will be up............I hope we are not on the same team.....LOL

Ill be their as long as the family doesn't get back at 7:00 and one quick question, so the cease fire you basically don't even want us to spawn in right?

Thats the beauty of the schoolyard style pickem, you get 15 min after teams are formed to form your strat and then go for it. That is why the cease fire is so important, time is short and if you want to do any planning, you have to get it done quickly. Originally Posted by Mech__Warrior

Ah I get it now. I thought there was absolutely no talking on TS during the 15 minutes.
