Accuracy
What's up TG2142. I just picked up this iteration of the BF franchise, and I'm finding my infantry experiences frustrating. I'm come from playing a good few years of BF2, and the fundamental difference between the two in infantry combat is the scope sway. All guns in 2142 have a vertical sway. As such, I can't reliably make any kind of shot beyond 25~30m because my damn sight is bobbing up and down. It becomes a crap shoot unless I'm in cqc.
Does TG have any tips for medium range firefights? Or any kind of accuracy related tips? I can't make those crucial headshots anymore like I could in BF2.

Re: Accuracy
I don't consider myself a "crack" shot, but I suggest using single fire mode and/or burst. Anticipate your shots and lead them if necessary.
Or if all else fails use the Clark...that is what I do

Re: Accuracy
Kill them before the sway has an effect. Shoot in three or five rounds at most since those will fire before the sway has any real effect.

Re: Accuracy
Get in the habit of crouching and zooming in.
If you'd like a lot of good advice, read this thread please. Other people have had this "problem" as well and you'd be wise to learn from their experiences.Fight!

Re: Accuracy
I'm going to assume you're either using the default weapons of the Voss.
Best approach is to aim at them, preferably upper body/near their head, then crouch/zoom in one motion as Zhohar said, and fire about 3-5 shots. If done correctly, you're going to hit them very quickly and lethally. It takes time and practice, but once you get it to become an instinctive action, you're on your way to become a solid shooter.

Re: Accuracy
I actually use the Baur; but yes, I've noticed that a few shots in rapid succession will usually make the target. The biggest hurdle I find isn't so much making kills at medium range, but rather making hits at long range or hitting small targets at medium range. While the sight is aiming I can't line up the shot on the guy behind the concrete barricade whose head and shoulders are the only parts showing.

Re: Accuracy
Remember, in this game you have to account for bullet drop. meaning if you are aiming for something a little ways off, you will need to aim up just a bit to account for the bullet dropping as in moves to the target.
At long range this can drastically effect where you aim your shot

Re: Accuracy
Another tip on accuracy: when going from prone to standing it is better to use the crouch key twice instead of a single tap on jump key. I noticed that the bullet spread is much smaller when going prone -> crouch -> stand comparing to prone -> stand.

Re: Accuracy
This is my main problem too. This isn't like most games where a single shot to the head = instant kill, so spamming the top of that barricade with bullets won't help. If the enemy is behind barricades and you're standing in the open, you run. You admit he's a better player than you, hide and cry like a little girl. Then wait a few seconds so he thinks he's safe and you load up your rockets and scope your rockets at the box, scroll up a couple times and aim above the box and empty the clip.
Honestly, small prone targets that are far away and heads popping up behind barricades are the worst sight when you're holding a Baur, the recoil makes it hugely difficult (for me at least) to keep the fire on their head. Single shot is your best bet, but even then, you're a sitting duck trying to aim for one spot to get 2 or three consecutive shots (the single shot recoil making it difficult to keep the aim over it each time) while they're spraying you to death.
For the Baur at medium range, do the crouching+scoping thing in one swift movement, a few bursts, starting at the centre of your target and ending up near the top should do the trick. The thing the with the Baur is your recoil is predictable, every time your gun flies up so always bear this in mind in relation to your target, not just "where should I aim my shot?", but "where will I end up?" as well. The Voss on the otherhand kind of sways side to side as well as going up. Also the Baur will land more hits than the Voss if your reticule stays on point, as it has a higher accuracy.
Despite all this I practice off TG with the Baur then come to TG with a Voss, since the Baur practice makes me a better Voss user, and I think the Voss is a gun that I'm better with.
Now, disregard everything I've said since I'm a crappy shot.Anger is a gift - Malcolm X

Re: Accuracy
Try working your way up to the Bauer. Voss, Krylov, Bauer is how I'm approaching the problem. Been playing since the game was released, and I'm still not reliable on the Bauer....
