Ideas to kick around.
ITT, invent fancy and strange game modes to spice up a Friday night or a boring weekend.
No uncaps!
In this mode, you play a regular head-on conquest map, but you play as if the uncaps did not exist. The commander's assets are assumed to be located off-map and are thus indestructible. You may not spawn at the uncap. You may not use any vehicle at the uncap. However, you are allowed to take shelter into the uncap's buildings if the fight somehow ends up there - just ignore the radar dishes and APCs lying around.
And thus, maps like Shuhia Taiba and Sidi Power Plant can now become the victim of capouts! A small amount of spice: spawn beacons always work. So in essence, to achieve a true capout, you must restrict the enemy's spawn point to only its uncap.
If the map doesn't start with captured flags, both teams will secure a predetermined amount of flags to taste prior to beginning the game, and will choose at which flag to start the match, acting as if they had just spawned there.
Fortress Siege
In this mode, one team must defend its uncap and is not allowed to capture flags outside of it. The defenders, however, may venture anywhere they wish - they just can't neut or cap flags on the map. The defenders can, however, steal vehicles scattered around the enemy flags. But are you willing to send a thief party outside at the risk of allowing the enemy to push into a baserape?
The game begins with each team in its respective uncaps. The attackers cap the map's flags, while the defenders prepare their stronghold and place mines and other traps accordingly. As soon as the last cappable flag is taken, the assault begins!
The game runs until the last ticket is exhausted or 30 minutes have passed. Afterwards, the teams switch sides and start over. Winner is whoever survived the longest or with the most tickets!
The Spy
In this mode, play progresses as normal, except that one player on each team is randomly and secretly drawn to be the spy. The spy works for the interest of the opposing team - so if you are the spy and your team loses, you win!
How will you help your "enemy"? Will you draw attention to yourself? Will you seek to teamkill as many of your squadmates as possible? Will you sabotage your team's traps? Will you perform a vehicle block?
For an added challenge, everyone minimizes the Teamspeak window prior to playing and lets each spy switch to their own team's channel to communicate intel.
Payload
For NS players only. Escort the Goliath all the way to the PAC uncap's helipad. If you pull this off, the PAC's base goes boom!
Soccer
Everyone spawns on the same team with FF=OFF and gathers an equal amount of EU and PAC FAVs. Use sentry guns as goal posts. One player gets to be the ball. You know what to do next.
If the ball gets squished and dies, you can wait for him to respawn and return to the playing field, or you can elect someone to be the referee and spawn as medic to revive the ball.
Godzilla
One player spawns EU and finds a battlewalker to use. He is not allowed to get out of it, ever. No repairs, no supply drops. Preferrably a very good walker pilot who can put up a fight.
Everyone else spawns PAC - but no engineeers, and no armored vehicles! Just yourselves, your railguns and some intel. Of course, Jihad Jeeps are forbidden.
The EU player is Godzilla. Kill as many PAC guys as you can before you go down!
The PAC players are the civilians. Use your limited means to kill Godzilla as soon as possible with minimal losses. Hint: lure him into an EMP nade spam, and finish him off with the railgun. Or, try to exhaust Godzilla's ammo and force him to resort to trampling. Watch where you drop those ammo hubs!
Counterstrike
Everyone has just one life. You die, you're gone - forever! Try this in a Titan game to put on a really stressful match.
License to Kill
Reminiscent of the famous Goldeneye 007 mode - as soon as you are hurt, die! If you don't drop dead right away, hit the suicide button. No revives!
Left Alone
Both teams are stranded without backing from their chain of command. Spawning as support is forbidden. No COs allowed. Only recons, assaults, engineers, and a lot of ammo management. Go steal those kits!GOD IS DEAD. THE N00BS TEAMKILLED HIM.

I think Counter Strike Titan would be impossible.

Re: Ideas to kick around.
My responses (just evaluating):
No Uncaps! - This would be a fun idea as long as it is kept under control....
Fortress Siege - Again, with only TG members, this idea looks really fun to me. I know a lot of us would enjoy the sneaky little one-squad missions to steal vehicles or kill snipers. And on the other side, I know a lot of us would enjoy finding and killing those sneaky squads and sniping! One thing though, would there be a commander on both sides? If so, I think the defenders would have a tough time with constant orbitals....
The Spy - This one could be interesting... but once again, hard to keep under control. I think it would be fun if the spy wasn't noticed, but when the spy tries to kill as many teammates as possible, he/she's probably going to be killed immediately after every spawn.
Payload - Excellent idea.
Soccer After seeing all the amazing explosions with buggies last night, I think this would be super entertaining. We would, however, need a lot of engineers to repair the buggies.
Godzilla Well-thought out. This could be fun - I'm glad you said no engineers, because then it would be way too quick of a game. We could have contests to see who kills more PAC members before going down!
Counterstrike I think that would be fun while you're alive, but extremely boring once you've died....
License to Kill We'd have to try that one out before I could decide if I like it or not. Let's do this!
Left Alone I'm not sure if I understand this one.... explain more please?
Overall, great suggestions and I think these would allow us to see a different side of the game and allow for new and improved strategies. For example, playing License to Kill would teach some people the real damage dealt when health is lost.... And soccer would just be amazingly fun, haha.

Re: Ideas to kick around.
Each team would get a CO but the attacking CO wouldn't have the right to EMP/orbital/supply the defending base. It depends on the map - if it's something like Highway Tampa where there are a lot of roofs and multi-level catwalks to block strikes, we can allow or disallow to taste.
Basically, no resupplying. Ever. And no spawning as support class just to make sure.Left Alone I'm not sure if I understand this one.... explain more please?
Ammo management becomes a crucial element in the strategy - preferrably played in IO or Conquest Assault mode since armored vehicles have a ridiculous amount of ammunition in store.
So the only way to get fresh ammo is to either die and respawn, or steal some dead man's kit who's got more ammo than you do.GOD IS DEAD. THE N00BS TEAMKILLED HIM.

Re: Ideas to kick around.
It just occurred to me that you'd have to rule out suiciding for more ammo on the Left Alone gametype as a precaution.

Fun, let's do some of these.

Re: Ideas to kick around.
Some of these game modes would require a lot of discipline from the players. You have some strict rules set up. To organize one of these games might take more effort than it is worth.

Re: Ideas to kick around.
I agree that if we kept it limited to established TG players, we could do it. If we let any random folks in, all bets would be off.
I'm curious on the Soccer scenario. Even with FF off, the "ball" is going to be getting killed almost constantly, right? A dead ball just lays on the ground, and can't be "kicked" by a FAV again until they are alive, so the ref would be quite busy trying to keep the action going. I have to admit, most of the ideas proposed are cool, but the soccer one intrigues me the most, but I'm having trouble seeing it actually working. Maybe I'm missing something?|TG-55| Infantry Division - Captain

Re: Ideas to kick around.
It depends. When we are on the 11th server I had alot of fun blasting around in an FAV hitting Y or draken and sending them flying and they never died by me.
