Show Us Your Tips!
So....this has come up in a couple of threads in the past. I thought it would be good to revisit it however since we've got a lot of new blood.
I thought about this yesterday when an experienced Squad Member was trying his hand at Squad Leading. He mentioned that he just learned how to give orders on the fly, by highlighting the little floating flags and selecting it on the comm rose. I think we've all had a few of those aspects of game play when we say "OOohhhhh...that's a LOT easier."
I want everyone to think about this and read before you post please. Here's the deal:
Please post only ONE hint/tip/secret for 2142. It can be anything at all (i.e. Don't get in a FAV when Lorax is driving), but try to select something that's been really helpful for you.
Try to keep your posts specific, direct and concise. I'll start:
When playing support, unlock and use IDS freqently. Try to have it ready to drop any time your squad stops to let you know if there are enemies around.
PS Yes, I know this is just like the game tips that show during game loading, but ours will be more fun. :P

My advice has not been heard enough I think: Always revive your squadleader first.

head shots hurt more - Try taping your mouse/fire button with the cursor starting over the enemies chest.

Also other Squadleaders are more important on the prioritylist than your squadmates.
If you see a number on a dead body in front of you... walk over 5 other dead bodies to reach him.

Re: Show Us Your Tips!
If you ever down a squad leader on the other team, disengage if you can, and throw a grenade on his body. =)

Re: Show Us Your Tips!
when driving the walker hang back from the front and stay with friendly infantry... you'll live longer and they will appreciate having those guns overhead working on their targets for them

Re: Show Us Your Tips!
As a squad leader, become comfortable with letting enemies go unharmed: your first purpose is to stay alive for your squad, not to kill everything in sight.
(This takes a lot of getting used to. Even I can't pull this off without a couple of rounds of warmup.)

Re: Show Us Your Tips!
The one that got me was switching seats in the APC and other vehicles...
For those who are REALLY new you use the [F1] - [F6] keys to select your seat. I felt SO stupid when my entire squad podded up to the titan and I was stuck on the ground cursing because I couldn't figure it out.
(I actually had to read the manual on this one...)

Re: Show Us Your Tips!
Highground is awesome. Having the hight advantage is good. You can go lower quickly but enemies cannot go up fast. If you are on highground always move back in anticipation of relitation rockets salvos.

Re: Show Us Your Tips!
When commanding you can double click the zoom button. Also rolling the mouse wheel forward 2 clicks will put you to your last zoomed postion.

Re: Show Us Your Tips!
If you right click with grenades out you can drop it at your feet. (or over a wall) You can also hold the right button down longer to adjust how far you throw it. (I'm brig and I only discovered that about a week ago. )
