The Catman are your squad leaders now. All squads are locked for only those who join with the Catman are truly worthy to be minions. Minions who will gladly jump out of transports without parachutes, and form suicide walls in front of Walkers for the Collective.

I've seen this a few times in the last few days too.

To be honest, rarely does a squad leader lock a squad and fill it entirely with invites. Most of the time they invite 2 - 3 people from their IHS, and I find that if your quick enough and anticipate the 'join' button, you stand a pretty good chance of getting in. If not, just wait till the next round and in the meantime run your own squad, get in some practice!

Personally, I almost never lock squads. Why? Well, whilst I enjoy playing with my friends, I also find that I'm regularly surprised and impressed by the level of skill and teamwork that I've not seen before. I also like to try to expose as many newcomers to the server to the TG way as possible.

Seeing locked squads once in a while is fine but sometimes I see squad-after-squad being locked and filled with highly skilled TG members. I personally feel that sends a very elitist and cliquey message and I've had complaints in my squad from pubbies saying exactly this and asking me why all of the other TG squads are locked - what am I supposed to tell them? It also means that those squad leaders aren't offering themselves the opportunity to get to know new (and potentially very skilled) people.

Anyone noticed the random squad names pop up every few rounds? Like OTHERS or something similar. I can't remember them..

I definitely think pubbies should be made more welcome to join in with TG players, as Dr Proctor said, they are normally more than willing to co-operate, and make for good squads. This also spreads the mega TG skills across squads, which is a big plus!
