Re: Im a noob
Welcome to TG Payne, it's great to have you with us!
I love running squads for newbies. Hell, it makes me look good in comparison :-) What times are you usually on the server? If you ever see me around, please feel free to join my squad. This server is about squad play and a mature attitude. You shouldn't have anybody criticising you for inexperience or shouting at you for a lack of knowledge. If you do experience any offensive language or abuse, do let us know as we take that kind of thing very seriously.
If you find yourself lost or uncertain about things, always let your squad leader know. They should be more than willing to explain things more clearly. I've only been playing this game for a few months so I remember all too well what it is to have no clue as to what the different names of flags were.
Finally, you'll find that using your microphone to communicate with your squad leader will really ease things for you. If you don't have a microphone, I can't recommend buying one strongly enough - I think that it's probably the single most important hardware extra for this game.

Welcome!
The Medusa's a nice headset; Aruncado has one and loves it. Feel free to squad up with either of us anytime you see us on (usually weekends)--we don't mind noobs. As Raz said, we were all noobs once.

Re: Im a noob
Welcome aboard!
The Battlefield of tomorrow is quite overwhelming at first. The important thing is to listen to your squad leaders and have fun. The thing that really sets this game apart for me is the structure and built in ability to form squads. It helps create an environment for all people, rookies and veterans to work together and be successful.
To answer your other question regarding the 55th. They are a great bunch of people who have decided to form a grouping called an "In house squad"(ihs for short). There are more of them as I am sure you have seen with the 3rd, and the E1st and the Irregulars. These are groups of players that have leaders and a structure of leadership and have decided they want to team together on a more regular basis. Some of the ihs's play competitively while others are happy to just play together on the normal server and scrimmage other ihs's for the fun of it. One requirement of being in an ihs is to become a supporting member of tactical gamer. (The Irregulars do not require supporting membership, they are the only one that does not require it, but you have to buy a pirate hat and wear it while sitting at your computer....kidding of course).
Your membership and support goes to building the community as well as paying for the servers that are used as well as keeping this webspace operating. In return, it provides a great resource for people to learn and grow as a mature gamer with a tactical combat interest.
I hope this helps in answering your question. Keep them coming and see you here or on the battlefield.Without darkness, how could we measure the light?
