New mouse
Just bought my self a G5 mouse. Really happy to throw away my old cordless optical mouse who drained battery in the nic of time :P.
But there is one down side even if I select the bf2142.exe programme and disable all connected fonction to the extra button, the button number 4 (the first tumb button from the cord) still as something bond to it that if I hit it it change my 3 sensability and put it to the lowest.
Any of you know a way to get ride of that or to at least disable the button itself to prevent it from working and messing up my sensability.
Hope you put up with my crappy playing for a week until I get use to it.

Re: New mouse
What OS are you running. I dual boot between Vista and XP pro. I just reloaded a fresh Vista and I am having much trouble with the G5 software.Things like I must quit the software after boot. Restart right clicking on iconand run as admin. Then still sometimes settings dont save.Or save and then quit in the middle of the round. No problems with XP Pro. Are you running the newest G5 software , 4.60 ?

Re: New mouse
Hi guys,
Not really my forum here, but saw you were having a talk about mice, so thought I would help. Check the TG tech forums and do 2 searches. Search for the G5 and you will see that we recently had a good thread about Vista problems with the G5.
Also search for a program called uberoptions. We have a really good thread where a forum member actually did a video tut. It convinced me to try it and I love it. Lets you do pretty much anything with a logitech mouse, changing all buttons and other stuff. Not 100% it works with the G5, but most logi. mice it does. And you can tweak it for each program separately, so like when you boot up 2142, it will set the buttons a certain way for you, and then when you quit, it will return them to normal.

Re: New mouse
Unrelated to the actual problem but I've found something the G5 is absolutely fantastic at...
The thing is a beast in the railgun turret. crank the sensitivity all the way up and you can work on the accurate (zoom) mode as if it wasn't zoomed. The thing becomes much better for taking out vehicles and actually becomes amazing at picking off infantry. I had a Berlin map where I spent most of the round inside one of those things, and racked up about 30 kills at square just picking off squads.

Re: New mouse
I'm using the G5 on XP, and programmed all the buttons, so don't have this problem. I can't remember the button numbers, but the thumb button I have for VOIP, I left the sensitivity buttons as they can be useful to switch between in game for different weapons. Also have TS on the scroll wheel when you move it to the right. Maybe try and program it to something else that doesn't get used in game? Or try to change the All programs settings and see if it works then.

Re: New mouse
I actually desactivated the game detection for the mouse and it solved my problem. I will further my research in what specific option created this but for now I can be peace full about it.
As for now i'll start getting use to the kow weight of the mouse since I was using a cordless mouse that had more weight then the G5 with all the extra weight you can put on :P
I used it a little for railgun and it's true that it work like a charm for those.
