I like the rotation as it is.

To keep everyone happy as apossible, the trick is to balance all the map elements (Conquest, Titan, Vechicles, Infantry only, etc.).

    Re: New map rotation

I always prefer Inf only maps so it's an easy choice for me.

My biggest problem with titan is how long it takes...wish you could double the amount of damage the missles do, that would make it more interesting in my opinion.

I made a map rotation that sacrificed for the enjoyment of everyone instead of just myself. Versus you who wants to remove Titan completely because you can't stand playing it once a day, because it's too long of an interruption before you can get back to your ADHD spamming of chokepoints with explosives. If the game is that unbearably slow, they made a game without any pesky vehicles to slow down your killcount based around two-minute rounds: http://www.tacticalgamer.com/counter-strike-source/

I don't like them because, as I said, they tend to be extremely formulaic. Buggy rush at start, mine Toll, if they don't get one of those rear flags in the first few minutes, the rest of the map is going to play out on Toll. Whenever Toll is lost or the attackers manage to cap a rearward flag, the map becomes a lot of fun but unfortunately that very rarely happens. It's like the BF2 Karkand map (I think that was it?) A well-designed city map with an atrocious chokepoint right at the start, 95% of games were fought over that first flag.

Tunis I think is just too small for the player numbers - if the upper area where baby Tunis is were unlocked that'd be pretty cool. Flags just tend to be chased in a circle until someone inevitably wins via attrition. It keeps the action up, but the overall strategy always is very ad-lib.

If people want to play them, I have no problem playing them. I just don't like seeing Gib Tunis Cerbere * Gib Tunis Cerbere ad infinitum. The game shipped with more maps for a reason.

OK guys, Once again enough. If I find myself saying this again to anyone... well read my nickname. You want to fight, go outside and take it to PMs or I rather you goto E-mail and keep it off the site altogether.

To be honest, and getting things back on track somewhat, I actually like the rotation as it stands at present. Titan is mixed in, there's a 16-player map or two, and it's enough to keep me from being too bored. I guess the only thing I might do is hit the "shuffle" button every now and again, keep the order unchanged but replace maps with others of that type.

I really like Highway Tampa, titan and cq. All the Minsk cq maps are awesome IMO. I don't like titan that much because it takes away from what I feel the map was designed for: assaulting a well entrenched enemy force.

Well entrenched is a bit of an understatement. I feel like the map would be slightly fair if the PAC team had an air transport, otherwise, you have to rely on the FAV out of bounds rush, and this is easily countered with mines and only a handful of soldiers to watch for it. 2142 is a chokepoint game, but Minsk is like running into a stone wall and once you're inches from it, you realize its covered in knives.

I was wondering... Have we tired no vehicle Minsk? Is it still a choke point of death? The only time I remember playing it was on a password night, and it was a lot of fun. A lot of running, but also a lot of fun.

On password night it actually worked. Recons ran in every which direction and managed to break though. Then again though, there were fewer people playing password night then we can expect on a busy night on the server.

    Re: New map rotation

I remember seeing a server that ran Minsk 64 player 24/7 and it was populated. It appears Minsk might not be so bad.

Shuhia 16p rocks. We need more variations of 16p maps.

Problem with 16p maps is that on a full server, if you blink, you miss it entirely.

Uranium, what name do you play under in BF2142? Do you play on another server? I see only 6 hours for |TG| Uranium-235 and 22.9 hours for |TG-Air| Uranium - 235 on our conquest server. And it looks like you've played once in the last 30 days.

I'm just asking since you're quite vocal in the 2142 forums.
