Good man, Fubar.
I dropped my mail in ballot off yesterday. Started going over it three weeks ago with the intent to mail it, but due to ballot length, busy life, etc., I had to play postman and deliver it myself.|TG-55| Infantry Division - Captain

Re: To all that are able...........
I'd vote, but my state's electoral votes are going to be democratic like they have been for the past 20 years. And of the 3 referendum questions here, two don't apply to me whatever (dog racing and weed possession), and the third will be changed within a month by the state if the new tax rules aren't working. I also don't know anything about any of the local officials that may or may not be on the ballot.
Why vote? No matter what I vote for, in the end my vote's just a number that doesn't matter.

So? Your vote may not determine the entire race, but you have said your 2 cents! Think of all the poor people living under totalitarian societies! And all evil dictators hate disco.
I'm not eligible until next election.

Re: To all that are able...........
Pred, every vote matters. It may not be enough to change the total outcome of your state in your favor, but at least you had the opportunity to cast your opinion! I'll be honest, I didn't vote for the first time until 1996, when I was 26 years old, and I regret that choice. I don't want to get too preachy, but it's a right and priviledge I know I took for granted for too long.
I've been told for weeks now that Colorado is going to go to the Dems, they have it wrapped up, it's over. Screw that. It's not over til it's over, and if the Dems do win it, then at least I had my say. If it goes to McCain, then I get to feel like I had a part in that victory.|TG-55| Infantry Division - Captain

Re: To all that are able...........
I will not be able to vote for a year and some change...but in my thinking, if you do not vote, then you have no right to complain if something you don't like happens. You didn't care enough to try and make it your way, so you must live with the consequences of that action, or, rather, th.e lack thereof.
When I turn 18 I will vote in every election I can.

Re: To all that are able...........
This is your right in this country, you can vote or opt not too. I would like to point my personal opinion.
Voting is not a priviledge, it is an obligation to have you say in how the country, state, and local officials will do their jobs. Think of all of the people that have given up their lives and freedom to keep this form of government going, even getting it off the ground in the first place.
You say your vote doesn't count, so 1 vote is 1 vote. When 1 million people individually think that their one vote doesn't count, well that is 1 million votes!
If you have never voted, then I strongly suggest that you do it at least once. Sometimes, you feel really good afterward just knowing that you did you job as a citizen and that all of the soldiers that gave their lives for this country did not do it in vain. Think of how many people would have given their lives trying to have the voice which you choose not to use.
It is your decision. That is my opinion.
Enjoy.
