Most Japanese words are derived from Chinese. =D

And from what I understood... You love to study Nihonggo? Not sure if I understood that correctly though...
Actually, Japanese just sort of borrowed Chinese's characters. It's amazing what that does for the literacy rate of the country when compared to languages that use words instead of characters.

What I posted (non-literal translation): I only remember a little Japanese. But Crux's Japanese is very good! Anymore, I don't stay in practice.

Actually, I could've phrased the second sentence better: Ga, Crux-san wa, nihongo o hana****e ga totemo jyoosu desu! (But Crux is very good at speaking Japanese!)

My mother-in-law is learning Mandarin. I went through the first lesson on her Rosetta Stone program (she's taking classes, too, when they don't get canceled for lack of participation), and man, it kicked my butt! It's super-hard to pronounce, but really fun to learn! Tonal languages FTW.

    Re: BF 2142 as french

From where I've studied, Chinese Mandarin and English were mandatory subjects from kindergarten to high school, alongside my native language. I've never taken Chinese classes seriously though, so I only know the basics. And yes, Chinese is very hard to learn. I've also learned a little Japanese from watching too much anime. ><

The statement where I said "You love to study Nihongo" was derived on that last sentence you made, where I assumed renshuu was study and ii is similar to like, I guess I was wrong.. haha

Here is my favorite other language:

Donec suscipit. Aliquam sed magna. Nullam volutpat sagittis tortor. Praesent pulvinar felis et lacus.

    Ack, Chinese.
Almost all Chinese parents send their kids to Chinese School when they're but 5 years old, and force them to stay for years further.
Hell, I'm in AP Chinese now.
But it's an awesome language, considering how it's spoken by so many people.
However, I HIGHLY recommend learning Traditional Chinese, as it forms the basis of many other Asian writing systems, while Simplified Chinese is for bunnyhopping n00bs.
