Re: Nickname
No background I'm afraid, this is the only game I use Garazaki with. Normally it's Noodlicious (addicted to noodles), Smoothnoodle (previous reason combined with my success (according to friends) with the girls while going out - which is so not true, I tried to hit on two lesbians once), Glennilicious (Glenn is my name) or GoiYa (no idea). Got them all ready should I ever decide to make another soldier.
Rasta told me Garazaki means a 'Small Parking Lot' in Greek though. Believe me, not my naming intention.

Re: Nickname
Dude, if Garazaki's actual name was Garazaki I think I would start a fanclub for him.

Re: Nickname
I don't have a fancy story or anything exciting on how I got my handle. I had two call signs back in the day. While overseas, and part of a heavy lift support aviation unit, my call designation was Sugar Bear. I kept that call sign for years until I transitioned to the 3rd armored cavalry division. Their I transitioned to AH-1's. My unit thought my call sign was too happy (I think the term they used was gay) for a Cav unit and they gave me the most opposite of happiness...Grim. So my new call sign from that point on was Grim. Hence my handle on just about every game I play is a form of Grim. When I came to TG my handle was a combination of my old squad and Grim, TXTGrim. I then looked for something that would let me keep my handle and came up with Grim the Grim.

Re: Nickname
Grim, you've been on military service in real? Me too, two years, back in my 20s. You fought?

Re: Nickname
I served from 1992 to 1999. I was part of the clean up after Gulf 1. The rest of my time was spent in Central America and the United States.

Re: Nickname
Well, thank you very much Grim for sharing this info with us (at least with me). I'm very glad I'm on the same forum and sometime in the same game with such man who knows what real weapon is and what real war about.
I didn't ever fight, but I know what order is, what serg and officer are, every day drill and routine, sweet word "home"..
I've only one question, if you don't want to answer just ignore: Why do you play in these childish like games? After all you've seen in real is it still attracts you?Last edited by zew45s; 08-28-2009 at 06:03 PM.

Re: Nickname
Gaming has always been a distraction to me. While in school and at the University it was always a way to calm down. Even while I was in the military it was a good way to blow off steam without really hurting anything or anyone. I never saw any of these games as a way to replace reality or even simulate it, just a way of having a good time while forgetting about the real world. There are times that I hear things said on TS or in the forums that upset me, but I understand that those things are said innocently and the person saying it doesn't really understand what they are talking about or referring to. All in all, I see this as what is was made to be, a game for diversion and only a game.

Re: Nickname
Until about two months ago, I was a ballroom dancer and teacher. Tango was my favorite. It's passionate and dramatic. It is sometimes used in art, film and theatre as a device to express a dark seduction. Its movements often mirror traditional rapier duels (not the sport you see now, but were people actually tried to kill each other). It is filled with jealousy, rage, a power struggle, sexual tension, love and hate at war within each dancer, the desire to either make love to, or murder the partner, and the uncertainty which. It is often danced as the Tango de la Muerte - the dance of Death!

Re: Nickname
Never knew how to dance. I always thought it's a girl's thing. Once, being on the date, my girlfriend asked me to dance with her. We tried a little, and I realized what a dumb I was refusing to learn dancing. I was like a bear or elephant just left the forest!..
Long time's passed since then. That girl has left me in a month or so, I've never saw her again. Now I could say I love her, and maybe my lack of ability to dance has played it's traitorous role she left me so fast, who knows? Dancing is definitely one of the mainest keys to woman's heart - the way to her unpredictable world of passion. I really feel sorry I didn't learn dancing.
