My friends call me Y. My enemies call me... well, that's a secret.

Re: Nickname
One of my band directors has a Dr.Beat like that. It's helpful because our drum major can't keep a decent beat. ;_;
I remember while I was playing Gears of War, Marcus said something like "it's pretty fubar down here", so I looked it up. Hilarity ensued.
I don't really remember where I got my nick from. Probably from the greek myth about it. The story is really touching. Anyway, I decided on it around then I was 12. After five years of using it, it's become like a second name to me. I've been known to answer to it by accident in public.

Re: Nickname
Let's see.
I started out originally as ProjectVORTEX. VORTEX stands for "Verification of the Origin of Rotation in Tornadoes EXperiment", and was a field study undertaken by the National Severe Storms Laboratory, in conjunction with the Storm Prediction Center and a dozen universities during the mid-90s. It's purpose was to encircle a tornado with instrument packages mounted to vehicles, overfly it with aircraft, and record data from the formation to dissipation stages. VORTEX-2 is slated to start next year with many more cooler toys.
(Phased-array radars and UAVs, among other things)
If you haven't figured it out, I am a Meteorology geek (former student who may still finish that degree out before too much longer), and a storm chaser. But since ProjectVORTEX was too long, I decided to simplify it and go to Vortex. Since Vortex was taken, I added 421 to the end (month and date of birth), so that's who I am now.
Regrets? Not really. If someone has a better nickname for me, I'm glad to hear it (My fellows in the 8th call me Voltron, though I'm not entirely sure why. LOL).:madsmile:Captain, 8th Mercenary Division:madsmile:

Re: Nickname
Mines simple yet obvious. Belander... Is my last name. Back in 3rd grade there was a fellow classmate of mine who had the same name and middle name as myself. So to get 1 of our attentions they started by calling us by our last names instead. When i moved at the end of my 5th grade year to another town i went to school where my aunt was a gym teacher. Everyone called her Miss B. So naturally everyone started to call me B, Bell, or Belander. Eventually i lost the use of my first name and was just known as Belander by all of my classmates and close friends. To this day everyone still calls me Belander... Heck even my parents call me by my last name from time to time... True story! Even my fiance calls me Belander... Except when i am in trouble >.< Ha Ha Ha Might not be that interesting of a story but that is how my nickname started and has still stuck to this day...

Re: Nickname
I use this Nick since 6 years now. A very good friend of mine who sadly died called me so after looking into my eyes. Since i use Kajal to let them look " boohoo dark " and was pretty depressed this times she said " Markus.. your eyes look like a black mirror.. and since the eyes are the mirror of the soul.. i guess that's true "

Re: Nickname
Mine ia a composite of two nick names. Killer is one I got in the navy when I was making games on the military computers and playing all the time. That was like 30 years ago. And Rabbit is after 'Who framed Roger Rabbit?' as my first name is Roger. That nick came about 15 years ago when I started working in a factory.
