And me Da is a doctor, and he got a lot of stuff from Merck back in the 90's.

Nowadays I try to use vand00r, because my first name is similar to that of Piotr Van Door (Door pronounced Do-er), the mysterious inventor of the Van Door motor, which my robotics team worships.
He was told that he should not kill, and he did not kill, until he got into the Army. Then he was told to kill, and he killed.

Something I wrote back in high school that gives a little about my name and its origins.

Even my very name is a lie
My first is derived from a game
The last was conjured from a story
I am nothing more then a character
Born from the mind of a troubled youth

Yet who is this tortured soul?
Who wears the mask that is Draken?
Ah that is a riddle that even I do not know

The question truly is, “Who does he think he is?”
    Now we are getting somewhere…
    I don’t know… I don’t know who I am
That is why I live the way I do
I live a false life so that I might experience existence
So that I might know what it is to be flesh and blood

Some would say that this is merely a Pen Name
Used to cover my true identity from those I fear
I have no qualms about admitting who I am
Should I ever be asked, “Are you Draken?”
“Are you the one they call Draken Viator?”
Whole heartedly I would admit to taking this name
Professing my admiration for his craft, I would take my place
I would claim this work as my own.

Yet Draken Viator is much more then that
He is more then just another ‘alias,’
More then a simple ‘nom de plume’
Though his life is my creation
He is a living breathing person
Unique in his own ways, yet still a shadow of my own

Will I ever find my life?
Will I ever find out who I am?
Like many my age I do not know
But I will wonder this plane until I find the answer
    Or find death…

    I suppose if anyone asks…

    I am who I am

    ~ Draken Viator
Past using this as the occasional pen name I have also used "Draken Viator" as a D&D Character name (Mid level Sorc/Fighter that later progressed into the Spell Sword Prestige class - Yes I AM that type of nerd.)

The actual name "Draken Viator" translates to Dragon Traveler. All in all it is a good name.

I got my nick from trying to get a cooler sounding name for my I-Gear fighter jet when I was first trying out Space Cowboy Online ( Most of you guys now know it as Air Rivals or ACE Online ). Since my usual MMO name "Puffin" would probably sound too cute for a fighter jet, I tried looking for an alternative. I wanted a name that rhymed a little like Isengard from LOTR. The name Riven was obtained from an old adventure game title for the PC ( which I never got to play ), hence Rivengard.

    Re: Nickname

I've had my name since my freshmen year in highschool. I studied japanese in my freshmen and sophomore years, and in order to write american names in katakana, you usually have to alter them a little. As Martin is my last name, you have to write it in Romaji like this: ma-chin so written in katakana it looks like this.

    マ-チン

My first name starts with an S, so when you write it all together it looks like Smachin. My best friend in highschool put it all together and starting calling me it. I've used it as my gamer name since then.

The 007 started out as 07 which is the year I graduated from Highschool, The first soldier I created in 2142 was Smachin07, When I started the next one, I just added an extra 0, so now I'm Smachin007.

Mine is pretty straight forward. When I first started playing online FPS' I wanted people to know what to expect from me at first sight. I would start playing using Freshmeat then once I understood the game I would use Scattershot. After getting used to FPS' I just started using Scattershot.

To be honest, I flipped to a random page in the dictionary, and pointed to a word with my eyes closed. If I liked it, I'd keep it. If not, next word. [I pick most of my game names like this. I got really bored of being creative...]

I did however, like the word Dictate, so I've been using it as my main 2142 character.

And yeah, that's the extent of my name.

    Re: Nickname

Hm, LordKelvin. Yes, this one takes a bit of explaining.

In it's fullest extent, the name should be Lord Kelvin HOFBrINCl, a rather amusing combination of chemistry facts. Lord Kelvin was the man after which the Kelvin temperature scale is named. HOFBrINCl is the list of the most reactive elements, which all have (if I remember correctly) only one valence shell electron. I thought that it sounded cool when said together, and tacked it onto Lord Kelvin's name, making him sound like a snobbish noble.

Of course, HOFBrINCl doesn't fit in after the first part, so thus I am just LordKelvin. It's my preferred gamer tag in all my recent games. I used to go by ceasap2, but that's an even longer story :P

I'd love to hear all about your band camp experiences.

As for my nickname I started as DrSeuss back in my CS and TFC days. That was changed to ThreeBlindMice arbitrarily for BF2. When I picked up BF2142 awhile ago I decided to go back to my roots but had a steel girder dropped on my noggin so some phonetic madhattery took place. Ergo, ThaDoctah. Yay!

Ah, if I told you all at once they would lose their magic! Better to let them slowly seep out.

Mines not overly exciting or inspired, but I've been using it for quite some time now. My brother and I and one of our best friends have been gigantic Mystery Science 3000 fans since it first started airing on TV. We wouldn't miss an episode, would buy them the second one came out on VHS. One of our favorite episdoes is 'Space Mutiny', where Mike and the robots come up with funny names for the movies main hero. When we all started playing mass multi-player online games, we starte our own stupid little clan, the {MST3K}, and we all used our favorite Space Mutiny name. My brother is 'Blast Hardcheese', our friend is 'Gristle McThornbody' and I was 'Big McLarge Huge'. The only problem with BF2142 is that the name box was too small to fit it, so I just shortened it to BigMcLarge.
