Re: Nickname
Mine is derived from my name. My name is Chris, so I made like "Xmas" and replaced "Ch" with "X." On top of that, I love to play with fire so I added the onfire part. And 08 is just simply my graduating year. So there we have it. xrisonfire08

Greatest 80's / 90's Metal band on the planet is Queensryche and one of their best albums is Rage4Order so i totally stole their album name as it is fitting to my predisposed nature of snapping at people breaking the rules...

Re: Nickname
I wanted a departure from two aliases I've used since I was 13 years old, which were "Rykros" (from PhantasyStar III) and "Ronistar". I also wanted something a bit more conventional and adult, as boring as that may sound.
I'm one for just making up random names, so I came up with "Spulat" and it sounded cool... so here I am."But way back where I come from, we never mean to bother. We don't like to make our passions other peoples' concern." -Dar Williams

Re: Nickname
Cockroaches are known to have a very rigid process of DNA duplication, and hence their cells are extremely resistant to mutation. This is what is meant when the phrase "cockroaches will survive a nuclear holocaust" is said. Cockroachs can't survive the physical shockwaves and the blast effects of a nuclear weapon explosion. They will, however, be able to resist the radioactive fallout from such an explosion and not mutate into something useless and become extinct.
In comparison ... human DNA is not as resistant to mutation. This works in our favour as our species has become the dominant one on the planet through evolution ... and also as a hindrance because of diseases like Sickle Cell Anemia, Wilson's disease etc.
All that notwithstanding -- I chose my nickname after cockroaches for their supposed ability to stay alive under the harshest of circumstances. I wanted to play a medic on TG and a medic has to stay alive, even through all kinds of hell.
I would have used the accented zh symbol, but BF2142 doesn't accept that. (And I'm not sure how to reproduce it on this English keyboard anyways.)Fight!

Re: Nickname
Most people know my name is a UK car registration plate, but it's only because I couldn't remember my original login for the game after a year not playing, and this name was fresh in my mind as I had just bought this registration for my new car. I didn't think I'd get that addicted again, but I did! Anyway, I used to go by the name Belgarion who is a great character from a seires of books by David Eddings. I have since started up another character Belgarion26, but haven't built up the ranks yet, and having just got all unlocks with PM, I can't be bothered to change. I may take it in turns when I play, but would get kicked from TG when it gets full.. So, do I regret my name? A little bit.. It's still personal though, as my first initial is P and my surname is ANSLOW, which upside down looks like M07SNV. (I get pulled over all the time by the police for having an illegal number plate, as my 7 is straight on my car, and not at an angle as it should be in this country, but only the 'Traffic' police can fine me for it, and I don't see them very much. Plus it wouldn't look like an 'L' if it was bent, not that anyone will notice but me)
Also..
This is a lie.. BigEye wanted to join the 101st, but the awesomeness cake was too tasty, and it was too late to change his name.

Re: Nickname
I have already posted the lengthy story of my noble name on an other thread.

I didn't say in the original post that Gronigo is a funnier way to spell Gros Nigaud which would literally translate in English to Big Idiot. That's what you get for choosing random names.Gronigo

Re: Nickname
I just realized that I did not tell you where's mine come from. I was playing World Of War craft before I started to play 2142. My name in WoW was MasssMurder a mage spec fire. I stoped WoW when they came out with Burning Crusade, because it was taking to much time to stay up date (like 4 hrs for an instance... too long). I like names with Chaos conotation and that's why one of my favorite nickname here on TG is Rage4Order. So I chosed Kossst, because when you seperate the K from ossst it sounds K-ossst. The 3 s refere to François Premier, the first french King who came out with education, books and stuff like that. For some reasons, the 3 s are everywhere on the construction (for example Castle of Reins in French) he make build during 1600 age. 3 s was also everywhere on his clothes, his sword and so on. So you can also refere that K for King, ossst for Host. But, like François 1er, I like to reserve suprise to my guest.

Re: Nickname
MST3KFTW! (I considered naming myself Cornjob, but would have probably been misinterpreted as porn and thrown off my old server
)
For me, I started playing CS:S well after it peaked. Besides playing things like Doom and Quake I had no experience with online shooters. This led to me being pwned by everyone for quite a while. It felt like I was using a BB gun vs. M4's and AK's.
So I stuck with it because it was easy to remember, and as a bonus it often annoyed punk-a$$ kids with names that were greater than their skills. (i.e. "L33Tkiller" was killed by "bb gun")
|TG-9th| BBgun. - I'll put your eye out, kid.

Re: Worth Considering?
Cool thread! It's pretty interesting to hear the stories and learn a little more about everyone here! Speaking of that, I recently discovered that you can have photo albums in your TG profile, so it would be really cool to see some of the faces behind the names that we play with all the time!
As for my handle, BZ55...
I've used Andy55 for various accounts and handles for a long time, but that was taken in BF2 (and hence 2142) so I instead wanted to go with "BZ". BZ is spoken "Bravo Zulu" in naval contexts and is used in communication to mean "job well done". However, EA doesn't allow two character names, so "BZ55" was the next natural choice!
This story is contrary to Lorax's theory that my name comes from or is pronounced "balls". :^)

Re: Nickname
I got Anospa from a random name generator back when I played Star Wars Galaxies (terrible terrible game...). Liked the sound of it, so I've kept it.
Apparently, Ano is the Japanese equivalent to our huh.
9th guys, how many of you are from Mass/The Greater Boston area?
