    Re: Nickname

My name can't be more obvious. I think it was more of a lack coming up with something that was really interesting. Latina was easy and to the point. I do have regrets at times but now it's become like a second name. I've had this name for about 7yrs now. It's been with me for a while.

    Latina

PS Not trying to be rude or disrespectful but does everyone know what "Latina" means? Just incase. This the definition www.dictionary.com has:

La⋅ti⋅na   [luh-tee-nuh, la-] Show IPA Pronunciation
    –noun
    a woman of Latin-American or Spanish-speaking descent.
    Also, la⋅ti⋅na.

I believe that it's just me (although Pfeil, who used to be in the 9th, lives 30 mins to the west). I'm in Cambridge/Watertown.

Mine comes from a roleplaying game call Kult. (shameless plug: www.kult-rpg.com http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kult)

Take the movies; The Matrix and Dark City, then add a whole lot of Gnosticism (the game came out several years before the movies.) The world is an Illusion, humans (once god-like and immortal) are trapped within their own bodies and limited lifespans. When you die, depending on whether you lived a good life or evil life, your soul is taken to have its memories purged, to eventually be reintroduced in a new body in the Illusion. A Nepharyte is what comes for you if you led an evil life. At the time of your death he takes your soul to your own personal Purgatory, your own Hell. There he tortures you physically and mentally till your soul is purged of your living memories.

    Re: Nickname

Back in my 1942 days I often played the Desert Combat mod with the Desert of Doom community. My name then was MandalorianJedi. Unfortunately that is one character too many for 2142.

I chose LaezarFox because oddly, there was a pewter statue of a Fox sitting on my machine that I'd never seen before that day. The sun was shining on it in such a way that it reminded me of LASERs. I didn't like the spelling so I made it Laezar instead.

It stuck because I like the way it reads and sounds, but the question is does the origin of my alias lie in coincidence, conspiracy, or fate? Dun dun dunnn...

They will, however, be able to resist the radioactive fallout from such an explosion and not mutate into something useless and become extinct.

In comparison ... human DNA is not as resistant to mutation. This works in our favour as our species has become the dominant one on the planet through evolution ... and also as a hindrance because of diseases like Sickle Cell Anemia, Wilson's disease etc.

All that notwithstanding -- I chose my nickname after cockroaches for their supposed ability to stay alive under the harshest of circumstances. I wanted to play a medic on TG and a medic has to stay alive, even through all kinds of hell.

I would have used the accented zh symbol, but BF2142 doesn't accept that. (And I'm not sure how to reproduce it on this English keyboard anyways.)
OK I've read this like 4 times and I still don't see where Zhohar comes from.

well, CoffinMaker came about when I first started playing. My first toon was JavaJoe but all I did was get killed. A friend of mine said he would make me a coffin to carry around with me because he couldnt keep up with the revives. So, as a joke, I made CoffinMaker and have stuck with it ever since.

Unless I am mistaken, zhohar is the word in his native tongue for "cockroach". Correct me if I am wrong.

    Whoops

Vortex is correct -- Zhohar means "cockroach" in Croatian. My native language is Croatian -- I've only spoken English for the last ... eight years. I have an accent because I started to pick up English at thirteen years of age. Thirteen is the magical number when children lose the ability to pick up a language without an accent.

A close friend of mine is half Croatian, and he has the Croatian flag tattooed on his back.

Just thought you might get a giggle out of that.

    Just plain Deimos was taken.

Tearing structurally-superfluous new behinds with high caliber weapons since 2006.
