Re: Nickname
BeSiege, Thank you very much for sharing, I am sure showing such a personal side to yourself is difficult and I believe that it is a true testiment to how awesome this 2142 TG community is that you would trust us with such knowledge. Once again, Thanks.

Wild guess, or do you know? Yes, it's from Tolkien-- The Silmarillion, in fact. It's the name of one of the rivers in Middle-Earth.
You're probably putting Uriel and Raguel together, plus a few syllables, for the angel name reference.

I kind of remembered it from Tolkien, and now that you say it, I remember now it is a river. I was pretty sure it wasn't a known angel name, but thought it could be some made up one from some other story or such.

Re: Nickname
Yeah, Sillmarillion is a bit of a slog. I only made it about halfway, maybe 2/3 of the way through--enough to have read the tale of the children of Hurin before the latest book came out.

Re: Nickname
I came up with GlobalWarmin, not surprisingly, because the game is about a post-global warming world. Also, the thought of being "killed by GlobalWarmin" made me smile.

I like names with Chaos conotation and that's why one of my favorite nickname here on TG is Rage4Order. So I chosed Kossst, because when you seperate the K from ossst it sounds K-ossst. The 3 s refere to François Premier, the first french King who came out with education, books and stuff like that. For some reasons, the 3 s are everywhere on the construction (for example Castle of Reins in French) he make build during 1600 age. 3 s was also everywhere on his clothes, his sword and so on. So you can also refere that K for King, ossst for Host. But, like François 1er, I like to reserve suprise to my guest.

Right here Spiff.

When you get inducted they hand you a new name to go with the clan tag ( . Y . ) The name they give you is of a .. you guessed it .. a buxom bombshell from the 30's ~ 60's ( world war II era primarily ) Im not gonna explain the reason the clan made that the theme since its on the website if you really want to read about it.

So anyway, thats the reason I am named Martha and why Drennyn sounds like a girl when he talks.

Re: Nickname
Random is the name of some character in a Robert Zelazney book (Amber series) that I read when my 9600 baud modem was still fast and 14.4k was nearly unheard of). I like it and used in on BBS playing trade wars and the like. Now I play under R&ndom because Random was taken. If I'd been thinking I would have done R&dom...
