Re: Nickname
Thanks, it's Ironic that I'm not actually a big fan of the beer. I prefer Sam Adams to be honest.
And if anyone wondered why I call my squad Jersey, it's so people know I'm not an from a land down under(not that there's anything wrong with that).
You'd think the accent would give it away but I still get asked.

Re: Nickname
I kinda gathered you are a Jersey boy
Honestly....I have to fess up. I much like the beer I had in England. Wow what a difference. In my opinion, there is no beer that has yet to come close to the experience.
Then again, I'm not a big drinker period. An occasional drink for me.

Proctor, I will say, every time I see you name I chuckle slightly. My band director goes by "Mr. Proctor." Tehe!

Re: Nickname
I don't actually have a good story for my name. I wanted a name that was
a) Unique so I wouldn't have to stick numbers on the end of it,
b) Easy to pronounce. It has four syllables, with few variations in sound,
c) Memorable. It rhymes and has two words that have an actual meaning in English.
Oh, and for those who occasionally ask me if Proctor is meant to mean proctologist (snigger), the answer is no. Take your pick of these.

Re: Nickname
Well. My name was originally thought of for playing BF2 on UK servers. I used to play BF2 like crazy with my brothers right back from the day of BF1942. We thought we'd call ourselves names of well-known serial killer sickos from the UK for maximum shock value. Hence my brother chose 'Myra Hindley' - sick
I ended up choosing 'Fred West' as he was the most disgusting mother ****er anyone has ever known. He murdered people and stored their bodies in-between his floorboards in his house (oh the smell) and buried people in his own back yard. He was eventually caught and bodies were found everywhere. I just thought it'd be funny to see 'You were killed by FredWest66'
I also have the name DrShipman666. Dr Shipman was a practicioner from my city, Manchester, who deliberatley poisoned and killed scores of people by over prescribing medicine. Sicko.
The names do NOT represent me. They were intended for sheer shock value on UK servers but since I dont play on any other servers apart from TG, I guess no-one or not many know what they mean.
I am really called James! I'm only a serial killer in BF2142. I'm an engineering student and musician from the UK.

Re: Nickname
Good bump

Mixa came originally from simple edition of my IRL name (Miska), Nintendo consoles didn't allow more than 4 lettered names so had to switch couple letters. And then I had looong time when I had no need to find other names. Well I can't remember for sure if I ever even tried to change it, but when Guild Wars came out I bought it and played it with quite a while with this nick, but eventually tried to came up with another name (I think Mixa is some russian comedian or just normal name so...), but couldn't come up with anything good in English and I got complains about why can't your name be simple etc.
So I kept the name, though there are many fake Mixas so my name either had something from the game or latest thing is to add Twista into the end though my name has nothing to do with actual mixing, though I always try to balance between different game styles if you can call that mix of death
!
Changing nick can be so hard when you have used one for so many years and in so many places, maybe one day...Last edited by Mixa; 04-28-2009 at 12:19 PM.

Re: Nickname
Mine is probably one of the most uncreative of all of yours, for the sake that I didn't make mine up in any clever way. The name Jetheren is actually from World of Warcraft.
This is the story.
About 5 years ago, my friend was really into WoW. I had never played the game so my friend invited over and I created a character. I couldn't think of a name so I just his the random name generator the game has and "Jetheren" popped up. I liked the name so much that I use it now for pretty much all my online stuff, though in recent years I have been using the name "Cipher" for games like CoD4 and CS: Source. I would also be using Cipher in 2142, but then I would have to start from scratch in rank.
For the most part though people don't have a problem pronouncing Jetheren, though it seems that players in 2142 have a real hard time.
If I join one of your squads feel free just to call me "Jeth."

Re: Nickname
Memento-Mori
Contrary to public opinion, I am not named after any soda drinks, I am actually named after this critically acclaimed video game: http://www.metacritic.com/games/plat...Memento%20Mori :P
Most just call me "Mori" (think Reader was the first). 'Cept for Martha, he calls me "Memento", from back in the days when I refered to myself that way.
Oh, and Torres calls me "Monty". I have no idea why. But the name has stuck, so who am I to fly in the face of tradition?
So, Mori, Monty or, if you're Martha, Memento all work.Put yourself out there and you'll be feeling the TG love quicker than you can say "can I come in sniper"! - Jazy

BF2142 : Memento-Mori--

Re: Nickname
I am an oxymoron.
I picked the name way back when and I've just stuck with it through all the games i've played.
