In the UK we're lucky as kids. It's possible to join the Air Training Corps between the ages of 13 and 21. I spent a lot of time in gliders and Chipmunks in my growing years in the ATC. I sure do miss it sometimes. I wish now that I had taken the opportunity to get my glider's license when I had the chance to do it for dirt-cheap.
I bet your kid loves it.

Please...don't...I've seen what you can do with a vehicle that is bound to the ground...I shudder to what would happen if you got controls of a vehicle that is SUPPOSED to leave the ground.

Since the only one I've posted is my marching band one, I actually found a decent one of me.
I look weird and hunched over, but it's over spring break last year at the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite.
