Whats your reason?
I been playing this game for 2 and a half years now since it's come out. If it wasn't for TG, I would have stayed with it as long as I did. I stuck with Quake 2 for 4 years jumping mods from Chaos, Weaponsfactory and Action mod. But now I played at TG: BF2 PR, GRAW2, WoW, Civ IV, AceOnline, Eve Online, Tabula Rasa, Team Fortress 2, and now Left 4 Dead. But I alwas come back to BF2142 as my home game. I'm pretty sure it's the combat evolution of our tactics. Finding new tweeks and tactics to counter other TG tactics. It takes time. I also think Zhohar will find this as one of his reasons, It's that staying on cutting edge of TG's tactics. I'm stuck here because it's what I know and I dont want to invest time into figuring out PR or CS:S from stratch.

I like 2142, I've tried to dabble in other games at TG but none of them have really "clicked" with me. I tired TF2, a little to insane for me, and the TG TF2 community essentially failed anyways. I play CS:S every once and a while, but it's more of a relief from 2142. But unlike 2142, when you start you get killed from all sorts of places and have no idea from where. Except you don't respawn until the next round.
I play L4D and a whole host of 1 player games, but it's the community and the game itself that keeps me coming back.

Probably the best crowd of people (and some of the most well-tempered admins) in the TG community in my opinion.

But seriously - 2142 is a game that was built around balance. They didn´t have to respect any calls for "realism". No other game leaves you that much room for creative tactics and close teamwork.

Well guys for me it's more of that I had started since the begining of the BF series so when 2142 came along I liked it but took some time to adjust to it but so woth it. Never was really tactical till I started coming into the TG server. So I will be here for a while. There are too many talented people to learn from. I see myslef around here a long time. thank you all for contributing to my learning.

At first I had played 2142 for a good 3 months, [Albeit on pubbie servers] then dropped it when I started playing COD4. I then got tired of COD4 and went back to GunZ [Please hit me now], and then swung to Crysis/Crysis Warhead, and finally found TG, and relearned my love for 2142.
It was really my first, and most loved PC FPS. The control scheme, the engines reaction to inputs, the balance in kit selection... It just got me stuck. I don't think I'll ever "un-learn" how to play 2142. Ever.
In the end though, the main things that are going to keep me coming back are the community, and the fast paced, teamwork oriented game play.

The game engine is very good; and the vehicles make a big difference.
I had played BF2 but bailed on any online gaming and just played singleplayer - I have no unlocks at all in BF2. The online aspect was horrible, endlessly raped by people with superior kits, invincible jets raining death from above, useless AA missles .. not sure if TG was around then or not.
I played DOD:S online for many years but I tired of it for a few reasons and when overall internet interest dwindled I picked up 2142.
My existing clan didnt embrace 2142 as Id hoped and opted more for TF2, so I was in the wastelands of public servers looking for a good place to game - found a few good players and added to my buddy list - then gamed with them wherever they happened to be.
We found the TG server and began gaming here fairly regularly since it was free of jerks. So I started gaming here excusively until I got banned by Eroak for my clan tag. After I paid Eroak my $10,000.00 reinstatement fee via PayPal, I was unbanned and began gaming again.
This game satisfies my need to relax and socialize; but the bottomline is the people are the main reason I game; and if I hadnt found TG I would probably be playing a lot of singleplayer.

GUNZ, I played that too, great game
Best FPS because of the teamwork that can only happen through a squad system and a defib

I still play BF2142 because it's still fun...though technically it's only fun when I play with TG people so...I guess it would be more correct to say I still play BF2142 only because of TG people...so you guys are the reason I play BF2142...thanks all, your the best.

My friend who doesn't play 2142 got me into it. I saw the battlewalker and instantly fell in love. I played against bots for a month until I got better internet. TG was one of the two servers I first played and is the only place I'll play 2142 and other games. I've been pretty busy lately but I hope I can hop on again soon.

I share Specterr's sentiments. Everyone that plays BF2142 on the TG servers is the reason why I still play it.

The community. I thoroughly enjoy playing with you all and that is what brings me to to hit the shortcut and join the TG server
So many priceless gaming moments were made here and I want to keep them going.
Like today, me and Doctah were trying to fly in a gunship on 32p Verdun and our worst enemies turned out to be trees and AA guns. It was fun.

#1 - TG people!!! Played the heck out of BF2. But didn't like going to the pubie servers to get an upgrade. 2142 was my first FPS where I didn't buy the game after others started to lose interest. Feels like I've lived and learned with too many people to give it up.
#2 - Tactics!! Playing and learning tactics from people. And then executing those same tactics to pull out wins for the team. Such a feeling of accomplishment when you can get three squads chasing after you
#3 - Close Games! Love the chat in game and after when scores get down to 5-5, 3-2, 2-2, 1-2, 1-1. SO many people yelling don't die and save me it just makes me laugh
.
#4 - Seeing new faces and being able to share the experience of #1 thru #3 with them. That is what keeps me playing
