I have also tried the Clark RDX in that experiment and it worked like a charm. What am I doing wrong?

Lyra, do EMP grenades only go off when they hit something or do they have a blow up limit?

How long is the life span of a grenade and what is its max distance?
EMP Grenades have NO blow up limit and can be thrown halfway accross the battlefield. You can throw like 2 EMP Grenades in the air and when you are about to throw the 3rd... the 1st will barely touch the ground.

I never actually tested how far a regular Grenade can go. The Balcony thing tho might seem like your Grenade might airburst just 1-2 meters too short to kill them instantly.

Torso Torso Torso. If you have any clue about the hitboxes on this game you donīt try aiming for heads. Only when your target is standing still.

Commander Supply crates. What does it take to destroy them, how long do they last, does their lifespan change with frequent vs rare use, do they give the commander points like the supply and health boxes of the grunts? Is the radius a constant? Any other tidbits on them?

Every weapon in the Game can destroy a Supplybox. Takes maybe 3-4 clips of an Assault rifle. You can also repair Supplyboxes with the repair tool but repairing them does not influence their health and ammo output.

Supplyboxes give "Commander Bonus points" which are calculated into your career points.

Their radius is always the same. Every Supplybox has a set ammount of Ammo/Health/Repair output. It will get destroyed automatically once it is "empty". So a Squad of empty soldiers huggling it will get rid of it fast.

As additional tidbit I can offer you their physical existance in the world. It can block the top of ladders if placed right. Also enable people to jump to places that are hard to access / impossible to access without one. Also you they can be used to block the catwalk on CampG to cost players spring that are trying to rush thru.

If you miss the catwalk and if falls outside of the walls, will it still give benefits through the wall? Granted, it may be of limited use, but just curious.

Ya like Ammo and Medhubs the radius can reach thru thin walls.

Re: The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question !

Can a commander kill himself with a box on top of Shingles Command?

What does it take to shoot a copilot out of a gunship?

Re: The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question !

Related to the above gunship question, how many Rorsche shots (railgun type) are required to take out a gunship?

I ask 'cause I've taken out tanks and walkers in 2-3 shots, but the other day I tagged a gunship at least twice with no flaming, plummeting death that I could see.

Yes the Commander can. The high a Supplybox falls down is not set in stone. Itīs dynamically adjusted by the terrain you throw it down to. So even if you drop it on the highest building on Berlin it will still have approximatly the same flight time to hit the "ground".

Hmm... and I actually never seen a Co-Pilot shot out from a Gunship.

The ground Rorsch is extremely weak VS a Gunship actually. You will need 3-4 shots to down it.

Hm, so in the future, the helicopter equivalents have more armour than tanks... Something's not right here.

That's wierd, and a balance problem IMO - given how hard it is to make that shot, it should at least pay off ;.;

I just did some tests firing a Rorsche at both the EU and PAC gunships. They weren't completely exhaustive (it's hard to hit the underside when you are the only person there), I tried hitting as many things as I could that looked like they could be weak points. Final conclusion: All hits with a Rorsche do 45 damage, regardless of which gunship it is. So, two hits with a Rorsche should be able to set a gunship on fire, so that's all you need to get a kill, unless there's an enemy helipad right nearby.

Firing PK rockets at a gunship takes off like nine percent health.

Re: The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question !

In a gunship dogfight, what should the gunners be doing? I always feel useless as a gunner in the dogfight because the lag does not allow me to hit the other gunship about 40-80% of the time. If the gunships are halfway skilled, there is no way to fire off a TV missile onto the other gunship, so this leaves me with ...?
I just default to spotting the living hell out of the gunship and staying quiet so the pilot can do his thing.

Yar, at the lack of better options just shot TVs at the other gunship. The chance is small but it DOES happen. Then whack away with your gun at it while the TV relaods.

Or you can do what I sometimes do.... ignore the Dogfight and shoot TV at ground targets haha.... always a WTF moment when the gunner is in a Dogfight and sees random kill messages pop up.

In CQ dogfights, gunners make all the difference.
