Re: The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question !
I've actually killed an enemy pilot through the canopy while he was charging head-on into me with a pilum (he was in an EU gunship). I knew I killed the pilot because the gunship was 'neutral' for a split second before it slammed into the ground. Not that you would see a pilot like that on a TG server...
Anyway,

Lol, for the tank shell drop I just use intuition. After a while you get a feel for what kind of shot will travel what approximate distance.

Re: The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question !
Well, I've been shot out before which proves that I was a meat shield, and I have seen people try to shoot a gunner before the gunner mowed them down. So this means, nobody knows how to do it, but it just does?
This is the first time I can think of in this thread, that you, Lyra, have never encountered such an event.

Re: The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question !
I've actually been the co-pilot, had my pilot shot out by a transport, and after plummeting to the ground in a dead drop for 2 seconds i switched to pilot and flew off... was pretty spiffy.

Re: The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question !
I'd like to add on to Lyra's answer to Zhohar's question if I may.
I've gunned for one of my friends who was a top 100 gunship pilot last I checked. He taught me that when gunning, Q-spot the enemy gunship and hold your fire. If you shoot a TV missile or start shooting at it, the enemy is prone to popping it's shields. Only shoot your guns at it if the enemy gunship's shields are up, since you can shoot right through the shield. If that's impossible because of the crazy maneuvering of the fighting pilots, then try to TV missile anything on the ground that's shooting at you, AA guns, Walkers, etc. If all else fails Q-spot, cross your fingers, and have some pie while you enjoy the inflight movie.

Re: The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question !
I used your super sneaky ninja tactic on a Berlin pub server today and it worked out without a hitch. Well, until I did it for the third round and actually had a defender waiting for me at the south road.
