Re: The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question !
Lyra...
Is it worth keeping a gaming mouse? Really, is it worth the DPI sensitivity? If so, what are your settings you use? Any other tips when using a gaming mouse?

Things are really situational here.
Many people love the DPI setting to up their Rorsch sensitivity and spin around in full zoom mode like a new born baby.
Other people swear by lowering their setting for the Gunship TV missile.
Many like to have their Voice IP on the thumb button of the mouse but I think that would influence my aim.
I myself prefer a small "Vanilla" mouse without any fancy settings. It´s light and very quick to move. No fancy DPI settings there.

Is it true that you are a robot from the future?

O Great German Sage and Awesome Wise Man:
What must one do to become great like yourself? Is it endless hours of training? Grueling drills? German rave techno music?

German techno music is great. But it usuall is a short lived performance boosting drug. Won´t hold for more than 1-2 hours.
If you want to get to the top you should most likely have a great understanding about the 3D environment of a map. On where can be shot from where. Also a great part is human psychology. You should prolly find an almost pervert joy in outsmarting people.

What about a perverse joy in blowing them up with high explosives?

Lyra, partner in crime...
As we both found the ways to fortify Comm Center with heavy armor, yesterday I say a PAC FAV into the confines of the forest. How was this done?

Lyra, could you direct me to a thread that explains how to use the walker effectively?

Pinpointing my finger to the South West gap. It seems quite best for getting things in.
Unless you did shenanigans and pushed it in with an APC or even RDX it in.

You most likely just need a bit more practise. When you move a TV all movements you make with your mouse will happen like half a second later on the actual missile.
Many people often try to overcompensate when the TV doesn´t instantly move to a certain direction and then wobble around like a pudding. Stay calm with your hand and make movements step for step while trying to predict the flight. At some point it will "click" in your brain and the TV missile will get easy.

I found the 2142 Server thru a topic on TOTAL BF2142.
http://www.totalgamingnetwork.com/ma...play.php?f=195
Someone was listing TG Server as Teamwork server. I tried another one first but they didnt hold their teamwork promise. So I stumbled on the TG server and was blown away.
I was really impressed by the extended use of VOIP, simple coordinated tactics like "Hold Spawn" and "Learn TG" Squads made by awesome people like Fehmart and Pfeil.
Later on I earned the trust of Bommando and was invited into his awesome "YELL AT PEOPLE HARD FOR MAKING STUPID ERRORS (TM)" Squads. Those Squads were Darwinism at its best but made me into a good player.
Bonus Fact: In my first few weeks on TG server I got banned for bunnyhopping.
