Re: The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question !
Oh Omnipotent Oracle Lyra,
What is the optimal distance for dolphin diving with an assault rifle?

I think what you mean is Dive to prone. And the closer to your opponent the better since your accuracy is all over the place unless you have a herzog/clark.
Dolphine Diving is this here:

Re: The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question !
Dear Lyra, I've seen some people do a little roll (like a barrel roll) as an infantry when prone to the left and right. How is this done?

Re: The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question !
Itīs not done intentionally. Your own view stays normal and you wonīt even know when you do it.
Itīs an animation for when you strafe and go prone. I seen it much more often on BF2 than in 2142... actually I canīt remember to have seen it in 2142 at all

Re: The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question !
Lyra,
Is it too much hassle to completely change my name on the forums and in-game? Should I stick with my original name for simplicity?
Your guidance is appreciated.

Yeah it's in 2142 - I saw Zhohar do it today , though you are right in that the game doesn't seem to perform the roll animation much.

The roll animation only appears to you in higher detail modes.

Re: The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question !
I cannot allow this thread to be buried amongst the rubble of yesterday's news. Therefore I must bring it back to the forefront with a question of my own.
Since your Michelangelo-esq avatar is pointing to a medical cross I will ask a two part medical question. (1) Which is more important; getting revives or getting kills? (2) Who would you consider the best at each?
The second question is excluding yourself obviously.

Re: The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question !
Q: Why does my head always spin when you're piloting the gunship and I'm your secondary gunner?

(1) Revives. You can get kills in so many other games. But the revive system is one of the reason why Battlefield is so attractive. Itīs basically negating a whole kill with just one buzz.
In competition play we learned that you can actually outrevive the enemy firepower. There would be this hugh mess on the flag of lightning quick revives and kills. At one point everyone would have run out of bullets in his main gun. Reloading would be too slow..... so you had this bunch of poeple on the flag trying to kill each other with defibs and pistols.
(2)
- For 2142 Mr Reaperassault prolly has the best aim and kill potential out of the TG regulars.
- For Revives I donīt know. most certainly not this Aruncado guy. He doesnīt do revives because he is nice - itīs just his way to beg for attention.

Re: The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question !
Dear Oracle
Defibs revive by passing electricity through the body of a fallen comrade
so why do they work while you are being EMPed ?
...tricky question

Re: The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question !
Dear ROFLmaster,
How do you keep the transport motionless, hovering? Even when I'm hovering, I can never get it to stand absolutely still, and drift forward slowly.
Also, is it possible to do a loop with the transport? Or will it always crash? I can never get it to right itself before I smash into the ground.
When being chased by a SAAW, do you back off, or fly in low to gain speed?
Do both of the guns on the PAC transport work?
How much damage do the transport's guns do to gunships?

I think Supports should be able to revive by tosing EMP grenades at dead Bodies! (not rly)

Compensate by Mouse. It will always drift a small bit. Just allow it to drift into one direction very slowly. That works better than trying to keep it absolutly still.
Try it with your hand! Hold it out horizontally and try keepint it still - it will start shaking. Now hold it out again and try moving it to the left very slowly.
Also look for little landmarks below. Like a specific group of pixels n the ground and use those to align yourself and try to stay at one position.

No loop possible. The max hight with the transpot is about 380ish. it just wonīt roll over - just keep its nose or butt pointed down.

Back off. Flying low and gaining speed is for Gunships.

Yes both Guns work perfectly fine. In the EU Transport even the Left gun stops working sometimes - especially when you got EMPd at some point. Spin your mouse around wildly to "recalibrate" it.

A hugh junk of damage. The thing is that the Gunship hitboxes are nearly unhitable when it moves fast. So you got to get the Gunship either when itīs directly approaching you or flying rather slow.
