Discussion: Battlefield 2142 / Battlefield 2142 - General Discussion - The Oracle: Ask Lyra A Question ! - Yeah, each Rocket is 5 damage - just a set value in game I guess
Oh lyra, my question was never answered. Do you have some advice?
Oh lyra....
My computer cannot handle much video and audio wise. If I had only one or two settings in the video section to turn up to medium, and one or two in addition to turn up in audio, what should they be (minus View Distance and Voice Over)
I read somewhere that setting geometry to med or high makes vehicles appear farther. f you can IŽd suggest textures and ground textures to med. Makes the game look a bit more pretty.
For audio having it on HIGH makes the sound awesome.

Lol, you probably read the Geometry thing from the Bf2142 Tweakguides, or from my post in another thread about 5 minutes ago .
I have it as medium currently.... let me test it out at high.
Even though my video card is 512 MB, I can only run the Textures and Terrain settings at low. Crazy.... I will try out the Audio at high right now and give you the benchmarking results.

Pah! Pretty shmitty, plain colours and invisible grates is where it's at!
And the game still runs like ****
(P.S. So if you see me shooting at a grate, I probably don't know it's there, so just ignore me or politely point it out )
It's a shame you have to play with diminished graphics - 2142 is pretty even in medium.
Yh I guess it is, but it's not that useful when you're tryna rocket someone and it keeps disappearing. Also running out into midair can be cool, but kinda confusing
Still, I think it's a monitor problem. Didn't play for a very long time, like 10 months or so, had all graphics on low then and now, but only now has it been like this, and the only thing I've changed in that time is the monitor. Although the grate thing is not too good, I don't really mind all the blank textures because I reckon it makes my game run a little faster, and every little helps.
I think there is something wrong with your monitor, because I have my graphics set to the lowest possible setting, and It looks different... I'll post a screenshot of that same place in a bit to show you what I mean.
Perhaps a question you've answered, and it's one that at some point I took great pains to figure out.
But if I'm going 100% for performance... for my ability to kill others while avoiding death myself, what are the advantages and disadvantages of higher and lower resolutions? Assume, for the moment, that I have a graphics card that could handle the native resolution of my monitor without problems.
I believe Frozen is referring to a game issue rather than a hardware issue.
Occasionally, my weapon glitches out or something and I am rendered unable to sprint even as my sprint bar recharges; pressing shift and double tapping w both have no effect. I must often switch weapons back and forth in order to solve this problem, but I too am wondering if there is a more efficient solution.
He was told that he should not kill, and he did not kill, until he got into the Army. Then he was told to kill, and he killed.

I have that happen sometimes but the only way I can ever fix it is by stopping completely. Then it works again.

No need my friend, I know it's a monitor issue since I've always had it on all low and the grates and (some very crappy) details will still kinda there. Oddly enough the details in soldiers and weapons are exactly the same as before but meh, I'm gonna get that PC someday...
It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
Things usually unfold faster than...
