I don't know, ersonally I find the IPS Shield very useful.
It saves me the trouble of having to walk to enemies - now all enemies in a 1km radius try to run towards me.

Still a bad idea...made worse by the fact that there are rockets and grenades in this game.

Lyra, I've been wondering about this for a while, but do you know anything about the distance to damage ratio for RDX? I have been wondering about this because every so often I have conked by health down to 11 while other times I have killed myself, hence the warning sign.

Well, there is absolutely no downside when concerned with tanks.
If ArmoredBear is driving the tank, my head might be safe. Further tests are necessary.
If anyone else is driving the tank, I will be able to jump on the tank, open the hatch, toss in a rabid gerbil, and make my escape.
