YYYYYYEEEESSSSS!!!! Best. Map. Ever.
Also, I'm glad that Bad Company 2 is coming to PC, but 1943 seems to be...sort of...a half game. And when they say "24 multiplayer games" I hope that means 24 game modes and not 24 players.
I hope this guy is on the money! 24 different game modes would be a blast. Even the 24 players might be good....think of the fun we had on small scale scrims....Shockwave and Shockwave payback etc. Then think of the lack of fun on 64 player Gibraltar!!!!
Lets just hold tight until more info is out before we slam the door shut on this one. Positive thinking guys!!!!

Yep, you are right, Jazy2.
Forgotten Hope 2 is not BF1942. FH2 is a clone that does not match up...

It might also be that they meant 24 people on a side....I don't know. We'll see.

Re: Battlefield 1943 this summer
What...no EMP grenades?? WTF.
I suspect that EA says only 24 players as that is all they can say without the server crashing...afterall it is EA quality and code we are talking about...

Re: Battlefield 1943 this summer
I'd welcome any battlefield installments that improve and reinvent teamplay. However, when we say "teamplay" are we talking here of kind of teamplay that merely includes sort-of inhabiting the same space as another guy you're not allowed to kill (i.e. a "teammate"), or will there actually be communication that is both encouraged and necessary to achieve goals?
I really hope they take Battlefield in the right direction. *crosses fingers*

I miss 64 player 1942 with all 64 people on teamspeak. That made for fun games.

Re: Battlefield 1943 this summer
The way I read it 'up to 24 players' means 12v12 max. From the video it seems very BF Heroesy.

It'll be fun, but BF3 it's not.

Re: Battlefield 1943 this summer
Well considering the small groups you get in Bad Company and all the other new FPS games on the PS3, a 12 vs 12 is not that bad. I'm just disappointed it's not futurist..

Re: Battlefield 1943 this summer
Ugh. Why can't EA and dice make them like they used to. I WANT BF2143! Not 1943 >.<

Re: Battlefield 1943 this summer
new info
Battlefield 1943: Pacific Preview
BF1943 hands on
video interview ..... and HD version
EDIT
its arcade pick up and play fun
3 classes, no medic class, auto-heal, unlimited ammo
I think this will be a fun game, I am not even thinking of it as a battlefield game but as a fun arcade run-around

Re: Battlefield 1943 this summer
I'm reminded of what happened to the Tribes series when they did Tribes Vengeance. EA DOESN'T CARE ABOUT PC GAMERS! Dumbing it down for the masses, what a shame. =[

Re: Battlefield 1943 this summer
EA faces tough times, my friend...
DICE can make good games, but when the tards in suits at EA "suggest" how the game should be, DICE has to do it. Sucks, but no one makes good games any more, and they still don't understand that only the innovative, non-mass appealing games are the ones remembered and played for ever.
Halo was that game, until the sequels came out. WoW was the **** back in the day, but was ruined when the goal became to get subs rather than put out quality. Appealing to n00bs is what gets early sales, but interest in the game dies off so quickly because the game itself is so shallow. Thank god I got BF2142.
