Re: Battlefield 1943 this summer
First, I must say...thank you kindly Rogue for posting this but now I'm very worried after seeing the actual game play, if I'm going to like this release. I can only hope so. Bring it... and let's see how it pans out

Yup. Time will tell - but the Frostbite engine looks quite nice and I think they're gonna do a lot of great things with it, whether it's in this release or future ones.

Re: Battlefield 1943 this summer
I think it would be cool if snipers (or engineers maybe) could use one of those telephone backpack radios, which would allow the squad leader to communicate with the commander. And maybe if the lines could be broken and have to be repaired.

Re: Battlefield 1943 this summer
UPDATE
http://www.bfhq.se/page.php?id=960&pg=1
- Punkbuster or similar anti-cheat software will be released for the PC-version. What and how it will work is yet to be seen.
- The patches for BF2 and BF2142 are making progress. We can expect more information and a beta during April.
- The financial crisis has not affected DICE much. They have noticed somewhat of a drop in sales, but no employees have been fired due to the crisis. Mirror's edge sold less than expected.
- There are no plans of releasing a mod or map editing-tool for BF1943.
- At the most, 15 people have been involved in the production of BF1943. In the beginning, there was only Patrick, Gustav and one more guy.
- The units in BF1943 do not look like those in Battlefield Heroes, that misconception might have cone from the first cartoonish trailer that was released.
- The maximum amount of players for the PC-version is yet to be decided. There is nothing that says it has to be 24.

Re: Battlefield 1943 this summer
Very interesting. I still think BC2 will be the 2142 replacement if there is to be one at all. But 1943 looks like a good time killer.
