Re: What happened to titan?
Argh!!!!
Put the blame on Spur ...
Look here: Server 2 Suggestion
Rival thread: Suggestion: Bring back the Titans!
What I have seen so far is that the 2nd server with NS is not populated.
I log in every at evening / night (European time) and the 2nd server with NS is empty.
On the other hand, when the 2nd server was Titan, the server was populated faster and every night we had some good games.
So I suggest again:
Please bring the Titans back!
Maybe we can do this: One week Titan and one week NS.Proud former member of TG-E1st

I like NS, but with only 3 maps maybe we should have 1 day every other week or once a month for it.

Re: What happened to titan?
The problem with NS is that a lot of people don't have it and when you are populating a server that presents a problem right there. Titan is available to everyone so it's easier to get the server going and it sustains itself for a while - which is pretty good considering that noone is actively seeding it. I did it once and it lasted. I think someone else did it again and it went for a while as well. It just lacks continued nurturing but I think it is way more capable of sustaining our initial efforts to get it going than NS.

Re: What happened to titan?
I got my cheap thrills on it when our conquest server kept crashing
Of course I get tired of seeding after like 15 minutes so I wind up on conquest normally. I seeded for Titan too, same thing. I am grateful for my one night stand with NS though!

Re: What happened to titan?
Being an avid NS fan, the problem isn't NS. There are very few servers running NS and they usually fill up fast. The problem with the TG version of NS is the map size. Very few players want to play the 32 player maps and that's whats being run. Change to the 64 player maps and I think the server would see greater populations.

Re: What happened to titan?
Yes the maps come in only three flavors but have the 16 player, 32 player, 64 player, and titan sizes. Maybe start with a 16p to seed, interspace with the 32 player and 64 player, and end with a titan or two. I would suggest the titans be locked down. On Bridge at Remagen Titan, the titans are head to head (north and south) and on Port Bavaria Titan, the place where most of the action happens – Silos 2, 3, 4 comes to a “V”.Originally Posted by draeh

Re: What happened to titan?
Precisely my point! Sadly too many titan commanders (especially pubbies) believe closer is better. The lag can be terrible in the NS titan game. On the other hand, NS titan is a lot of fun.Originally Posted by draeh

Re: What happened to titan?
Couple of things:
1. I don't like Titan. From a recent poll, and from my general impression, a lot of TGers also don't like Titan. Hence your answer, Lusitano.
2. Northern Strike maps are very fun. The run-around on 32p Liepzig is interesting and armor-light.
3. NS server is easily seeded in EST prime time. Simply saying after a round end in TS "I'm heading over to Northern Strike - anyone want to join me?" will get the server seeded in no time.
4. I've never had issues with Titan lag. I do, however, feel that draeh and Jak are both very terrible people for disliking Remagen
5. Speeder combat is fun.Fight!

Re: What happened to titan?
I like Remagen just fine, thank you very much. On titan Remagen, the titans are lined up for a game of chicken rather than moving sideways. Two titans parked over silo 3 makes the game unplayable except for a few. Funny that they have the RDX.

Re: What happened to titan?
No no no... I love Remagen. I just remember some very horrible experiences during the much vaunted and original "Pfrosty Pfriday" events (circa May 2007). The problem arises when the Titans on Remagen are close to one another. If the Titans maintain their distance the lag, if any, is manageable. Assault Lines Remagen is a blast all around.
I love NS, really.

Re: What happened to titan?
Heh, I'm just messing with you fellas. I feel bad for people that have titan lag -- I have never experienced it, even on my old machine

Does it exist even if we disallow titan movement?Fight!
