    Hello 2142'ers

I have started playing 2142 again and definitely going through rookie trials. I'm typically a recon type player. I like stealth, surgical attacks and most of all a sniper rifle. My name is vulcanos there.

I look forward to lots of good tactical play on the server!

p.s. I will bring some PCS brethren along every once in a while too.

    Welcome to the future.

It's always great to see prominent members of the community enjoying our little slice of fun. Without getting into the whole "recon vs. anything" drama, if you are just getting back into the game, I would highly recommend putting down the sniper rifle, getting your defib, and running assault medic. At least until you know all the ins and outs of the maps. It is a lot easier to say alive, and the whole bringing your teammates back to life thing is awesome.

Next time you are on you should join us in teamspeak. It's a great way to get in on all the fun and joking around between rounds. Plus it is a lot easier for us to let you know when you lock your squad by mistake.

My friends call me Y. My enemies call me... well, that's a secret.

This thread is not, and will not turn into, an anti-recon thread.

    Welcome [back] to 2142!

Thanks for the advice on medic but i'm more of an engineer man myself if i am not doing recon. I do find learning the maps from a birds eye view much better however.

I am still trying to rank up so i do a lot of multiple kits as necessary.

If you've got a bit of spare cash, you might want to consider getting the only expansion to 2142 -- Northern Strike. With it installed, you'll be able to earn a few unlocks fairly easily. This'll allow you a nice little head start.

If you've got questions, well ... we know it forward and backward and we'd be glad to help you out. Welcome to the future!
