Re: SL to SL voip channels = AWESOMENESS
I think you have it all wrong. We need to ban SL to SL communication in teamspeak as well as elsewhere.
We also need to make sure people donīt bypass this and cheat by meeting up in real life and coodinating the Squads there.
For example:
- Roommates need to turn on death metal loud to the point one cannot understand the other
- Arithea and Aruncado are banned from Squadleading forever unless they move into seperate flats

Re: SL to SL voip channels = AWESOMENESS
Just to let everyone know, I'm a huge supporter of the idea SL-to-SL communication thing, I think it can take teamwork to another level and wondered previously to when it was made official if such a thing could be invented, but my laziness always prevented me from seriously from following up which is why people like Silver are just awesome for doing so much to further the idea and help idiots like me to implement this stuff.
I was just wondering if anyone had a counter-argument to the idea that newbs to the server can't join in immediately on the SL^_^SL fun, because I sure can't think of one. This argument is enough for me to question the idea which seemed awesome at first, since growth is imperative to our community, but I think Silver's suggested messages which are very short (almost as much as the current one for TS, and therefore won't be taking up extensive space if I'm estimating correctly) and get the necessary point across. In fact this could increase growth if people realise that there's another layer of awesomeness on top of the in-game stuff they're already experiencing.
And yes I am arguing with myself. Deal with it.Anger is a gift - Malcolm X

Re: SL to SL voip channels = AWESOMENESS
I had two people today ask if they could join TG. New people want to join because they like the environment, teamwork, camaraderie and respect which is supplanted with-in.
Like Repaq said "a greater challenge." TG is perhaps something more than they have come across before in the online gaming community which offers a wide variety of challenges.
So can a new player immediately join the full aspects of unique game-play that TG offers, no. Can we help them understand how, yes. Do we help them understand, yes. Can we do better at helping them understand – always, and there is the crux of the issue what is the best way to help those outside the community understand. First everyone that is TG should understand how it works by reading the awesome Silver guide, second they should read Damonte’s prior post to understand better understand the TG position.
From the seasoned player to the new player who involves themselves on our server; they know communities such as TG offer the something unique and that is why they join us. We are here and reading this to foster a community, of which members are guided by ethics of the established rules, and where TG morals (gentlemens aggree.) are a guide those ethics to be enforced and to have fun. Let us not forget this.
Pred brought up an issue, that to him is a big deal, we must respect that. We must avoid name calling, pointing fingers, lazy disregard for another’s wish to make something better and desire to and understand how TG works. We all have different viewpoints and come from different places we must remember and respect that.

Re: SL to SL voip channels = AWESOMENESS
Teamstacking is a serious issue, and it's never fun to be on the side that is losing. But we can't let that stop us from persuing new heights of teamwork and communication.
If teamstacking does occur, then bring it up in the main channel, and I believe our community is mature and reasonable enough that we can sort it out amongst ourselves.
I do not believe that we need to abolish this novel, interesting, fun, and valuable way of teamworking just to ward off possible teamstacking. It seems like we're catering to the lowest common denominator in that case, and that just tastes sour in my mouth.Fight!
