Abbreviations/Nicknames
*First post*
I've been playing Battlefield 2142 for a while now, but have only recently found out about Tactical Gamer. Before I continue I'll say this: I love this community more than any other gaming community I've heard of. Anyway...
Being that I love to squad lead, often I get nervous when a commander or squadmate reports something using an abbreviation or nickname for something, that I just don't understand.
So for me and for any other people who may have the same problem, perhaps someone would be kind enough to make a good list of abbreviations/nicknames.
I thought of posting this when I was reading a thread that kept repeating the term "IDS" and I honestly have no idea what that means. If this is all in the instruction booklet then I'm sorry lol, but I misplaced mine.
Thanks for any and all help.

Re: Abbreviations/Nicknames
IDS= Infantry Detection Sonar, the smaller ''UAV-effect'' generating support unlock.
Also,
PDS= Pulse(Is it? That was the first thing that came to mind) Detection Sonar, the engineer version of the IDS,
(Bit more obvious here) Fav= Fast assault/attack vehicle,
APC= Armored Personnel Transport
That's all I can think of right now. Please do post if there's more.
And welcome to TG

Re: Abbreviations/Nicknames
Welcome to TG!
UAV = The flying commander asset that sends a pulse out to put enemy infantry/vehicles on your minimap.
CO = Commanding Officer
SL = Squad Leader
SM = Squad Member (or Supporting Member, depending on context)
FAV = Buggy
Otus = NetBat Squad Leader drone
Spanky/Accipter = The shooting Squad Leader drone
I think that the rest we use are fairly self explanatory, but if you see one you don't recognize don't hesitate to ask! =)

Re: Abbreviations/Nicknames
Nice to meet you.

I sometimes call the PDS a vehicle sonar.
Also you will hear the ground defense turrets called rail guns and also by their proper name. (which I cant spell)

Howdy Caviano! I saw you on the server last night (I was in the squad with you on Operation Shingle when you left to go CO). It appeared to me you did a pretty good job commanding that round from what I could tell as a lowly squad member.
Just wanted to say Welcome to TG!
TG = Tactical Gamer

Re: Abbreviations/Nicknames
I'm on quite often. typically anywhere between 6pm-1am EST.
And thankyou for the kudos on my commanding lol. Didn't turn out so well, too many squads were just splitting up, but nice to know my commandment is remembered.

Don't listen too much to that crazy Meatwad guy. He'll lead you astray if you're not careful, then steal your wallet once he's got you cornered. :P ('Cause everyone knows the 3rd is the greatest IHS around!)
Anyway, welcome, and thanks for posting your questions!
As you can see, we never mind helping out the newcomers. Hope to catch you on sometime!

NUTS = Neds Unlimited Teabagging Service.
I'm not saying the TG-8th is "awesome" or even the "greatest" but that's only because I don't need to

Re: Abbreviations/Nicknames
I'm just realizing that TG divided up into divisions of some sort... If I'm not mistaken they're called IHS's?
What's that stand for?
