    Errors of your own stupidity?

Don't you just love it when you make stupid errors? After spending what seems like a lifetime away from BF2142 I have come to terms that it will take a little while before I am able to get back into the swing of things, but until then, I find it quite comical as to some of the stupid things I end up doing. These aren't just the little errors like mixing up the equipment names (which I do a lot of times) or getting confused with locations on maps; these are more like going up a ladder and mashing all the keys on my keyboard from the surprise of an awaiting enemy with a shotgun in hand, or forgetting which team I'm on and accidentally, but purposely (yes, it's a paradox; I meant to shoot my enemy, but in reality, it was my teammate) killing my teammate. I always apologize for my actions if I happen to bunny hop or whatever from my instinctive key mashing, and I cannot even express my uttermost embarrassment from killing my own teammate thinking that he was an enemy (he was right in front of me, and I was a little bit paranoid and jittery and open fired on him [good times...]). It just occurred to me that I am making a lot of stupid mistakes. I think the killing my own teammate one was probably my biggest (ever) when he was basically right in front of me. Does anyone else have any funny stories where you made a complete fool of yourself? Or maybe you were just having a bad day, where it was just a continuous stream of mistakes?

Well, dude, don't feel bad. I've been playing for more than 2 years now and I still mash the wrong buttons and call things and places by the wrong name.

    That sounds familiar?

Pffft. The worst I've ever done wasn't even in 2142. My mouse jammed during a CSS scrim and I unloaded an entire M16 clip into my team.

    LOL now that is funny!

My stupid moments range from weird gunship antics, killing teammates with grenades, to just being lost on the battlefield and getting caught in cross fire with teammates because I wandered off

First thing they asked was "how much is the other team paying you?"

I played as commander in BF2 vanilla on TG and basically clicked on the wrong item and took out my whole team with an artillery strike!

Just looking at your thread's title, I wonder which came first, the error or the stupidity.

The number of times I've done that in 2142.

"Now then, let's just put a UAV on my people over here. [click] 'Roger, orbital bombardment fired'. OH CRAP!"

To error is to human, to really foul up requires a computer!

I have had that accident. OOPS!

Dropping orbitals on your own team instead of spotting is always fun.

Oh and um that chicken, egg thing doesn't quite work since stupidity is an adjective rather than a noun...

I have forgotten which team I am on many times. The worse one was when I was on PAC but thought I was EU in Berlin. I turned around to see a person in the building near Crossroads (right next to me). Needless to say this made me jump and I land a near perfect knife shot at the assailents face.

Team-killing is the most common form of 'error'

    Pubbies treat it as normal
    TGers treat it as accidental
    Catman treats it as optional

xD Just the other day I was playing on Verdun with some other TGers (and some pubbies), and I forget who it was, but they were in the walker, a friendly buggy came by, and the TGer in the walker completely annihilated the buggy and didn't even realize it was a friendly until a couple minutes later. It was incredibly funny, and actually made me feel a bit better knowing that I am not the only one doing these things.
