Re: Large scale warfare on display this Thursday
its was great! I got lost a few times for example on suez canal. When I thought the time was right I rushed from Trash Dump to what I thought was Dry Lake, told my sm's to get out and cap the flag. Only thing is, the flag wasnt there! Someone moved it further down the hill to confuse me!
Great games though on Thursday! Had a tough time SLing, but won a couple!

Re: Large scale warfare on display this Thursday
That was a fun change of pace, but not something I would want to play every time I logged on. An additional 16 slots on the server made the map look like the teams had doubled in size at times. There were people EVERYWHERE!!!
I will say that I had a blast on Verdun holding Guard Gate with Draken, Drennyn, Chris Hooper and BBMAG. I don't think we lost it all round, even though we were under a constant barrage of armor. At one time, our squad was facing two tanks, an APC, two walkers that arrived one right after the other and a buggy rush, and faced them all down. With the PDS up, the minimap was SCARY, but somehow we took them all out.|TG-55| Infantry Division - Captain

Re: Large scale warfare on display this Thursday
Had a great time yesterday, almost felt like the first time
and ya almost hurt like it too lol, But don't mind dieing so much cause the challenge was greater and it was a refreshing change of pace. Hope we can do more, maybe once a week. The only thing I noticed though was (and a big reason for so many of my deaths) was at a few points teams were TG stacked lol, I had to lead a few squads full of pubbers (baby sitting) against the amazing skills of the TG crews that at times just ran over us lol, but good times, want to see more !

Thanks Mantis
We need to do something like this weekly. It's easy to burn out on the regular maps.

Re: Large scale warfare on display this Thursday
I thought the infantry maps were only 32 size? The large ones have both 32 and 64. Which kinda sucks they left it that way.

Re: Large scale warfare on display this Thursday
Personally, I always love the big versions over the small ones of ANY map. Unless there are like 16 people in the server. My favorite maps being Sidi, and Suez.

Re: Large scale warfare on display this Thursday
I enjoyed the gunship battles on Assault Lines Tampa. Myself, LG (as my gunner), and Dorb and his gunner Rodeo were in the PAC gunships. E-Leader, Mr. Jengles, TomdaSlaya and Boosteryu were in the EU gunships. The dogfights were intense with minimal interference from SAAWs and AA and the large map allowed me evade a lot more when facing two talons. A couple of crazy things happened. I actually killed Mr Jengles inside the EU gunship with a directed rocket which struck the cockpit window. The gunship was still operational. A little later LG rail gunned both the EU pilot and gunner inside the gunship and we were able to steal the talon for a brief moment. I am going to download the battlerecorder file for this map.

Re: Large scale warfare on display this Thursday
Yeah definitely intense, and fun

You and dorb are great pilots. We all tried and got some kills but I think we'd have to say you guys won XD Well done flying E-Leader all the same. As well as Tom and Booster for their part. I couldn't believe both me AND E-Leader got shot out, as well as being low enough to the ground for it to survive. First time I've seen that. The map before that, Shuhia Taiba, had some crazy stuff too. Including me "dodging" in a dog fight by flying into the underside of OUR air transport, killing us all. As well as having E-Leader shoot down one of their gunships from inside his, only to have the destroyed, flaming wreckage fall through some smoke and fall ontop of me as I tried to aim a Pilum through some smoke to hit it.
I've downloaded the recorder for both but I need to sort out a sound issue before I can record anything to a video
