    Naisu.
He was told that he should not kill, and he did not kill, until he got into the Army. Then he was told to kill, and he killed.

Even knowing that, you still need to know the height at which you are firing. That guy on the map, could be on any of the 3 levels of the tower, so 1 in 3 chance of rendering this shot a waste, and no video/discussion until you do it with another target..

But yes I can see that if you know exactly what point he is at 300yards away, then it would help work out the angle. I still prefer to judge it myself.

Shame not everyone can put out move markers for more things other than this,

The tower was bout 300 meters away and surrounded by a lot of identical towers -- I didn't want to waste time trying to figure out which tower was correct.

Excellent, thank you, that's what I wanted to know. I thought you somehow knew how to aim numerically precisely based on the distance of the move marker.

Nope. I learned the relationship between tank shell drop and reticle adjustment the same way I learned the assault rifle rockets drop and their reticle adjustment -- by heart.
In the tank class yesterday, that was pretty much the consensus.

What the reticle notches are useful for is adjusting your shots. Each time I shoot, I know what part of the reticle is aligned with my target. That way, if I miss, I know how to correctly adjust my aim on the next shot.

That is to say: the reticle notches aren't used for guiding the first shot -- that's done by heart -- but the adjustment for each of the following shots in based off the reticles.

Naturally. It's good to see we finally agree on something!

Thanks for the clarification as well... The move marker was kind of a "Shoot in this general direction" marker as opposed to a "Calculate the firing angle" marker.
