Nope, no Q spotting, no Pulsemeter
You have to STARE at an enemies body

I thought the Accipiter worked off the netbat system. You don't necessarily have to look at the guy, any method of getting the diamonds to show would work.

Cool, never knew that. I always thought you had to Q-spot, but Lyra's answer makes sense since the accipter rarely fires. Though I am also curious as to why the accipter seems to only kill people when the SL is dead. :P

Re: If you could go back in time... [unlock discussion]
There seem to be 2 Types of Netbat.
Itīs a bit wired.
The first layer is the normal netbat. Diamonds & Minimap Dots from helmets, Otus and Pulsemeter are in this category.
The second layer is rarely known and it seems to be bugged on ranked servers. When you are on an unranked and passworded server an you STARE at an enemy for 2 seconds all of a sudden a little minimap dot will appear on the map WITHOUT anyone having Q-Spotted him. This is the type of netbat an accipiter locks onto. On a ranked server you wonīt see the minimap dot from people staring at enemies tho.

Re: If you could go back in time... [unlock discussion]
I recently started ranking up a new soldier, so I have just done this.
I went -
Defib
Grenades
Sprint
Endurance
Herzog
That gives a totally playable assault kit with only 5 unlocks.
After that prolly - Medhub, Netbat, Rockets..
Proud to have been an Irregular!

I have to say this, but the tag system is strange. This is what it has so far.
"chum, defib first, fresh meat, hurry up, jesus forgives, judas returns, nice pants, unlock guide, what's this button do?"
Guys, I am curious, but when the time comes, do you really need to worry about Spanky?

Re: If you could go back in time... [unlock discussion]
It's not a tag "system", anyone can add their own tags dude. Try it!
If what Lyra says is correct then I would think not, if you can stare at someone for 2 seconds you should be able to kill them without needing a drone to help. I [i]could see it helping perhaps against an enemy if you have like a sniper rifle or something else that doesn't have a particular high rate of fire like a Ganz etc. to assist you, but if you're moving with a squad I don't see it contributing hugely.
But I'd ask Reaper about it's uses, apparently he's not bad with Spanky.Anger is a gift - Malcolm X

Re: If you could go back in time... [unlock discussion]
I'm going to continue to use the Accipiter as long as I have a full squad, methinks. Hopefully my squad will actually be looking at enemy contacts and it can fire at them while I am engaged in reviving or ducking behind cover or w/e.

Defib first and then grenades because those two gain points like no tomorrow which boils down to getting unlocks faster. I would probably get all the player upgrades and the beacon, then get the repair/heal/resupply faster items. After that, I might get the Support's sentry, followed up with the Engi's motion mine. Then get the Assault's Rockets.

Re: If you could go back in time... [unlock discussion]
Think I saw you in squad the other night before I had to drop off? How are you liking it?

I'm really digging it this time around. I think when I played before (for a week or two when it first came out), PoE2 was still very fresh and I was really in that mindset... Fresh out of vanilla BF2, I was really enjoying the stealthy squad movements that had become possible without UAV and Scan.
Now I'm just playing it for what it is... embracing the minimap and it's red-dotty-goodness
Learning how to die less, how I should map my buttons, and how to use ROCKETS
I probably only have 10 rounds under my belt at the most, but it really plays like every other shooter when it comes to maintaining a solid K/D:
Also - FWIW, I'm loving the baur
I've unlocked things basically in the order Holy showed in this pic. Basically all the "general" unlocks (sprint, etc) plus all the assault stuff below the rifles. (Doesn't take long to get the baur/voss via field upgrades).
I think I'm either going to go with support or recon next... or maybe <gasp> SL equipment

Re: If you could go back in time... [unlock discussion]
My order....
1. Defib
2. Medic hub
3. nade
4. sprint
5. sprint 2
6. support shield (on its way to ammo hub)
7. ammo hub
8. EMP mine
9. Dystek Repair 2.0
past that, I would say get Netbat stuff, then rockets, then motion mines, then whatever.
